For many Twitch streamers, their face is a big asset to their brand, with the personal connection they create with their viewers being tantamount to their success. For others, however, such as CS:GO and Valorant streamer Anomaly, hiding their face is of the utmost importance. In a recent stream, the jig may be up for Anomaly though, as a mix-up with his streaming software has given fans an impromptu face-reveal of the Swedish Twitch partner.

With how important marketing has become for content creators these days, it makes sense to have some sort of gimmick in order to distinguish yourself from the multitude of other streamers out there; Dr Disrespect doesn't don his costume for nothing. For Anomaly, the ski mask he is adorned with in all of his YouTube videos and Twitch streams isn't a marketing ploy, it is a way to conceal his identity, something that he has guarded since the inception of his channel in 2007. Fans have only become more curious as to what the streamer looks like, especially since he started to gain traction on Twitch.

During a stream on the 26th of June, Anomaly ran into some technical difficulties with OBS, which he tried to rectify by fiddling with a few settings in order to get back to the usually scheduled Valorant and Counter Strike content that he is known for. After a few moments of toying with the program, an image popped up revealing the streamer's entire top half, face include, to which Anomaly responded to by say "Oops, that's not the camera." He couldn't help but laugh at his mistake, with a number of people in the background joining in as he cried out "my OBS is f**cked, where's the goddamn camera dude?" One person can be heard cackling uncontrollably at the accidental reveal, which only made Anomaly laugh harder at the incident himself.

While many would assume that the face reveal would be a big issue for the streamer, who has spent many years concealing it behind various ski masks, Anomaly was quick to turn off the stream and restart it a few moments later without any concern. Other faceless streamers have made big deals of their face reveals, with Corpse Husband concerned about the disappointment fans may have if it were to finally happen. The hysterical laughter over the mistake seems to show that Anomaly doesn't take the situation quite as seriously, and streaming has resumed without a hitch since the accident.

This is likely the best way to handle the situation, since issuing some type of formal statement on the matter would likely only cause Anomaly more problems regarding his privacy, has less desirable denizens of the internet are generally quick to jump on people's apparent weaknesses. The fact that Anomaly has laughed about it and continued his streaming schedule should at least show that the revealing of his face isn't something that can be held over his head in any way. With the mystique of his real face a thing of the past, Anomaly can get back to his streams for the latest update for CS:GO.
