Running a 10k race is certainly a challenging task for many people, but one Twitch streamer decided that running a 10k normally just wasn't hard enough. Charity streamer OrcRun recently completed a 10k race all while wearing armor straight out of The Lord of the Rings.

Charity streams on Twitch are one of the best ways for popular content creators to use their platform for good and OrcRun has been consistently streaming charity runs for several months. Their recent 10k, however, was the first time they've streamed a run while racing against other people.

The armor that OrcRun wears during their streams is based on a version of the Uruk-hai orcs' from The Lord of the Rings who are known to be faster and stronger than regular orcs found in Mordor. The first two Lord of the Rings films feature Uruk-hai running long distances without stopping which seems to be part of the inspiration for OrcRun's streams.

The 10k run was completed yesterday, September 19, entirely on stream in just over 53 minutes. Orcrun was able to make good pace for the run with their quickest kilometer only taking 4 minutes and 47 seconds. The full charity stream of their run is quite wholesome as onlookers shout encouragement to the lone Uruk-hai as other runners smile and laugh after seeing their armored competition.

OrcRun's 10k managed to raise over $1,600 for a charity called The Alex, an organization that provides medical care for those in need in a handful of cities throughout Canada. The streamer runs several times a week raising money for the charity along the way. While the streamer has seen some popularity in terms of views in the past, their recent 10k has been their most viewed archived clip with over 3,500 views in just a single day.

Upon finishing the 10k, OrcRun explained that he wasn't able to breathe well as his sweat clogged the cloth mask he wears underneath his Uruk helmet. This seems to have been the longest run for OrcRun as he also explains that his arm started to hurt early on in the run, which seems to make sense as he was carrying his camera the entire stream. Most people would struggle running 10k in general, but doing it while carrying a camera and wearing restrictive armor puts OrcRun on par with the most powerful Uruk-hai featured in The Lord of the Rings.
