Twitch is involved in another controversy tied to another complicated ban. Twitch streamer SleepyMia, a partnered streamer well-known for her drawing streams and pet streams, has been banned for 14 days. According to SleepyMia, she was banned on December 5 for what Twitch claimed to be "Showing or engaging in acts of attempts of real violence." At first, SleepyMia was entirely confused about how she committed violence on her stream, but she's since come to believe it's from a misinterpreted clip with her dogs.

After pursuing additional information, Twitch informed her that her ban was a result of her harming her dogs as evidenced by "audible yelps." SleepyMia apparently requested an example of these "audible yelps" or video showing animal abuse and Twitch responded that the stream is "gone" and that it can't show it to her. Luckily one of SleepyMia's viewers found a recording of the stream. The video is unfortunately quite unnerving and doesn't necessarily support SleepyMia's defense.

The clip in question shows SleepyMia in her kitchen, where she's set up her Twitch stream for an IRL broadcast. She then notices her dogs up to something and goes off-camera. Before going into detail, however, it would be good to offer some background. According to SleepyMia one of her big pitbulls gets "zoomies" from time to time but isn't supposed to do this in the house, perhaps due to its weight causing damage. The second important detail is that SleepyMia has another dog that has a collapsed trachea, so that it often coughs/yelps.

When SleepyMia goes off-camera, she later describes that she's going to stop her dog from doing zoomies. It's during this time that the other dog begins to cough/yelp, which explains the high-pitched yelps in the background. It's two different dogs - a pitbull and a pomeranian. However, there's still some unnerving aspects of the video. The recording picks up SleepyMia angrily yelling at her dog with curse words, as well as abrupt pauses and what sounds like impacts. She then comes back to the camera and says "When Tank starts zooming, I have to drop what I'm doing to beat him up." ...  "You have to drop what you're doing and beat the dog up." SleepyMia has said since that her comments were jokes and that she was only rolling her dog on the ground to stop him from running.

The result of the video coming to light isn't likely to be beneficial for SleepyMia. While it does seem all but certain that the "audible yelps" from the video were from a second, unrelated dog, the clip still makes it sound like SleepyMia is punishing her pitbull for "zooming" rather than playing. Hopefully, SleepyMia really was just being playful with her dogs and was just joking when she said she had to beat up her dog to stop them from zooming. But either way it's unlikely to result in a reversed ban from Twitch.
