Earlier this month, Ninja, arguably the most popular video game streamer in the world, announced that he was quitting Twitch to stream exclusively on Mixer. Instead of simply leaving Ninja's channel alone, Twitch decided to use it to promote other channels and drive Ninja fans elsewhere. However, on August 11, a porn channel appeared as the top "Popular Fortnite channel" promoted on Ninja's unused Twitch account.

It appears as though the channel was quickly removed and it's unlikely that Twitch was promoting it on purpose, but Ninja is understandably upset about the situation. In a video he uploaded to Twitter, he points out how his channel is the only one being used to promote other channels, and he is "disgusted" that a porn channel was promoted on his account. Ninja also added that he is trying to get his Twitch channel taken down, or at least get Twitch to stop using it to promote other streamers as some may then associate those streamers with his brand.

Something to note is that, much like the Fortnite battle royale game that propelled him to fame, Ninja has a sizable audience of younger viewers. This means that there is a decent chance that kids were exposed to the graphic imagery in the porn channel's thumbnail, and could have very well clicked through to watch the channel before it was removed from Ninja's page. In his Twitter video, Ninja issued an apology to anyone whose kids saw the porn channel while it was still being promoted on his page.

At the time of this writing, Twitch has yet to release a statement on the issue. However, one look at Twitch's Twitter feed shows that there are many people mocking Twitch for the incident, and it seems as though the streaming giant will have to address it at some point.

This isn't the only controversy that's plaguing Twitch today. There was an incident where Twitch streamer Alinity was accused of using a racial slur, which has caused quite the uproar as well. Viewers misheard Alinity and she didn't actually use a slur in the stream, but some are still calling for there to be consequences as other Twitch streamers have been banned in the past for people mistakenly believing that they used a racial slur.
