Twitch streamer kaceytron has been suspended indefinitely from streaming platform due to "engaging in hateful conduct and threats of violence against a person or group of people." This ban stems from a joke that kaceytron made that she has since labeled "insensitive" and in "poor taste."
In a recent rajjpatel stream that kaceytron was a part of, the conversation led to talk about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. During the stream, kaceytron joked that she would leave quarantine and attempt to spread the virus "as much as possible" because "the world would be a better place without old and poor people." A clip of this comment was uploaded to the popular LivestreamFails subreddit, where it quickly became popular and likely caught the attention of Twitch.
In a tweet acknowledging her ban, kaceytron explained that she does not "condone hatred towards any person and [the joke] was a poor reflection of my character." She also asked that her fans "remain calm and rational." She also said that her coronavirus comment being a joke does not excuse her saying it.

It's unclear if Twitch will ultimately be lenient with kaceytron as it has been with other popular streamers. It's possible Twitch plans on keeping kaceytron banned forever, but it's also possible that the streaming platform will eventually restore her channel. Prior to her channel being banned, kaceytron had more than 500,000 followers and nearly 1,500 subscribers, so losing the channel permanently will be quite the blow for the streamer.
In the description of kaceytron's suspension length, Twitch notes that the suspension is "indefinite" but that "trying to get around this restriction can result in a longer suspension." This wording suggests that kaceytron's channel will one day be restored. However, Twitch ban lengths can be pretty inconsistent, and so it's hard to make a guess as to when kaceytron's ban will end, if ever.
In the meantime, if kaceytron's Twitch ban is permanent, one has to wonder if she will move to a different streaming platform. Microsoft's Mixer platform is Twitch's main competitor, and she could possibly rebuild her audience there. Kaceytron fans will just have to wait for the streamer to share more information.
