Twitch has banned streamer Greekgodx after a controversial rant he made while in a Twitch IRL stream. Greekgodx is a popular Twitch streamer who is known for his streaming a variety of video games, including popular streaming titles like Rust and Minecraft.

Greekgodx was recently streaming a Twitch IRL stream, where he was walking around town and talking to his viewers. In the stream, Greekgodx starts talking about Soundcloud's new gender options. "It does 'male,' it does 'female,' it does 'other,' and it does 'prefer to not say.'" Greekgodx then continued, "If you put 'other,' they should say sorry, Soundcloud is not for you. Goodbye and f****** delete you, dude."

Greekgodx's rant included some other inappropriate language we can't repeat here, and it seems that it ultimately caused Twitch to ban his channel. It's unclear at the time of this writing exactly how long Greekgodx's Twitch ban will last, or if his rant is truly the reason why he was given the ban. Twitch typically doesn't reveal why it decides to ban any given streamer, so fans basically have to guess based on controversial content from their recent streams.

For example, there was a recent situation where Twitch streamer Bridgett was banned for three days, but it was unclear exactly why that ban was put into place. Bridgett revealed that Twitch banned her for engaging in sexually suggestive content, but it's unclear if that was referring to the behavior in her streams, or the behavior of her Twitch chat. The running theory has been that Bridgett's Twitch chat is ultimately what led to her ban, as streamers are expected to police their chat to a certain degree.

Bridgett's Twitch ban lasted for three days, but it's possible Greekgodx's Twitch ban will be a bit longer. It seems that Twitch punishes people more harshly for using offensive terms and for what it deems to be hate speech. Assuming the Greekgodx Twitch ban is due to hate speech, then it's likely that his channel will be down for at least a week, if not longer.

Some people feel as though there is a double standard on Twitch gives preferential treatment to more popular streamers. Recently, Tfue used a racial slur in a Minecraft stream but didn't seem to face any consequences, even though it would have been his third strike on the streaming platform. Twitch's three strike policy means that it would have had to ban Tfue permanently if it took action against him after that incident, and since Tfue is one of the top streamers on the platform, it seems likely that his status played a role in how all that played out.

Tfue has taken a self-imposed break on Twitch to work on his mental health, and it's unclear when he will be back. We also don't know when the Twitch Greekgodx ban will lift, so fans will just have to stay tuned.
