Twitch is leveling up its increasingly popular Twitch Prime subscription service, announcing today the start of a new program. "Free Games With Prime" is a familiar concept: a monthly selection of free games, exclusively for Amazon Prime/Twitch Prime subscribers. Twitch revealed both March and April's games as part of today's announcement, with the first round of titles arriving on March 15.

Both March and April's Free Game with Prime selection will feature five games. It can likely be presumed that this will become the routine, but that may or may not change. March's five free games include Superhot, Oxenfree, Mr. Shifty, Shadow Tactics, and Dungeons & Dragons: Tomb of Annihilation. April's games will be Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars.

For those who have been paying to Twitch's Indie Amplifier contest over the past month, most of these games will be familiar. All eight titles featured in the Indie Amplifier poll, which was originally only planned to deliver the top three games for free, will be included in either March and April. The winner, Shadow Tactics, will naturally be featured in March.

Free Games with Twitch will become the streaming service's competitor to existing monthly free game subscriptions like Xbox's Games with Gold and Sony's PlayStation Plus, or the Humble Monthly Bundle on PC. What they all have in common is the routine delivery of surprise free games for a relatively low monthly price.

But what Free Games with Twitch does differently, if it even counts, is tied to just how much value subscribers get outside of the free games. Twitch Prime removes ads from the streaming service, gives the user a free 1-month subscription to a streamer of their choice, and bonus DLC and loot for various popular games. And that's not even including everything bundled in with Amazon Prime, which is also included in a Twitch Prime subscription. Considering how many subscribers Twitch Prime already has, Twitch and Amazon are basically just giving out more free stuff because they can.

One other note, which may be exciting if true, is that Free Games with Prime are unlocked for Twitch users "forever." Other subscription services require users to maintain their subscription to keep their games.

Twitch's Free Games With Prime goes live starting March 15.
