Many people face problems unique to their chosen career path that those outside the field may not fully understand, but Twitch streamers often face problems unique to their chosen platform as well. A popular Twitch streamer and Minecraft speedrunner known as Feinberg has run into one of these issues courtesy of Twitch banning him in his alt account for making fun of another streamer--specifically, himself.

To clarify, Feinberg playfully dubbed his alt account "feinbergsucks" and Twitch immediately rallied to Feinberg's defense by banning him. Twitch bans are rather infamous for being erratic, unpredictable, and sometimes inexplicable, such as the ongoing Dr Disrespect Twitch ban situation. However, in this case, the reason for the ban makes sense--it's the execution that's questionable. After all, Feinberg is a Twitch partner. One would think that Twitch would know wh0 he is and what his alts are.

According to a tweet he made on June 23, Feinberg's alt account was perma suspended, and as it's against Twitch's TOS to stream on another account while an alt is suspended, this effectively perma bans his main account as well. This means that Feinberg can't stream, which he discussed on Twitter. Apparently, Feinberg is a full-time streamer, and one reason he's been hounding Twitch to unban him is so he can go back to work. It's possible that Twitch being banned in one country due to the actions of one streamer has led to the platform becoming even more stringent than usual, but Feinberg isn't exactly being uncooperative out of choice. In fact, he has promised to delete the account or change the name if Twitch will give him the chance.

It's also possible that Twitch is simply too busy dealing with other issues to focus on Feinberg's dilemma. While the hot tub meta appears to be in the past, Twitch's response to it has led directly to the Twitch ASMR meta according to Pokimane, which saw many envelope-pushing accounts heading to the ASMR section. These streamers do things such as simulate ear-licking while lying in bed, which can lead to them overshadowing ASMR creators who read or make other types of content.

Fellow Twitch streamer xQc has criticized Twitch's standards for banning before, noting that he has been challenged by Twitch for relatively minor infractions while controversial creators like Amouranth and Indiefoxx have received relatively little pushback from the platform and their accounts have survived being banned repeatedly. However, Amouranth has recently announced that she's thinking about quitting due to the harassment she's received for her hot tub and ASMR streams, which serves as a reminder that the situation is nuanced. As of writing, it appears that Feinberg's alt account is still banned.
