There's a grey area where explicit content creators from use Twitch to drive traffic to other sites, which TheDanDangler has struggled to occupy in 2022. Yet The DanDangler's latest Twitch ban may be due to more complicated and worrisome reasons.
TheDanDangler had only been banned a single time at the start of 2022. The latest ban that TheDanDangler has received is her seventh, meaning she's been banned on Twitch six times including her most recent. None of TheDanDangler's bans in 2022 have lasted more than three days, with most lasting less than 24 hours. Twitch has aggressively reigned in misconduct on TheDanDangler's channel, but has also been very lenient with its punishments. The latest ban for TheDanDangler's channel continues that trend.
The seventh ban for TheDanDangler was delivered on October 30 during an IRL stream for what she described as "the biggest Halloween party on Twitch." No obvious reason for the ban stood out during the stream and TheDanDangler did not provide an explanation via social media. One TheDanDangler fan shared what they said was a now-deleted Instagram post from her Twitter account where Twitch admitted the ban was a mistake on Twitch's part, though.
While there's no explicit reason for TheDanDangler's ban, the Twitch streamer did share a concerning thought on Twitter following the punishment. Following the ban, she posted, "I'm alive and okay," followed by, "Sorry for worrying everyone yesterday. I just have mental health issues." TheDanDangler has since posted about struggling with depression. While her comments may be unrelated to the reasons for her ban, Twitch does ban streamers for threats of self-harm.
Whatever the reason for TheDanDangler's ban, her Twitch account has already been reinstated. The ban was issued on October 30 and was reinstated on November 3, so it lasted less than three full days. That marks TheDanDangler's seventh ban as just as short as her previous six, with no indication that Twitch plans to raise the severity of the punishments placed on her channel.
TheDanDangler's legacy on Twitch continues to be both controversial and concerning. The well-being of TheDanDangler is obviously a priority, and Twitch has historically banned channels if it believes streaming on the platform is unhealthy. That doesn't appear to be an option for Twitch, yet, though. Alternatively, TheDanDangler could simply have run afoul of Twitch's rules regarding explicit content again, an issue Twitch has also historically given out increasing bans for. After six bans in a year, the situation surrounding TheDanDangler on Twitch has only grown more complicated.
