Twitch has recently signed high-profile streamers Ben "Dr Lupo" Lupo, Saqib "Lirik" Zahid, and Timothy "TimTheTatman" Betar to exclusivity deals, likely to keep them from jumping ship to Mixer. This follows a conversation that has been on-going in the streaming world for quite some time, arising after Ninja and Shroud's moves to Mixer. And while there is a ton to be said about each platform, it may ultimately come down to pay for a majority of streamers, leading many to ask what Twitch paid the aforementioned figures.

Before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that Ninja's and Shroud's contracts with Mixer have yet to be disclosed and likely never will. Yet sources familiar with the streaming industry have stated that Ninja's Mixer contract is likely in the 3-5 year range and between $6-$8 million dollars. The money, for one, had to be convincing, and a contract too short wouldn't be worth the jump, whereas a contract too long could potentially miss out on future gaming trends.

As such, Twitch has to be offering competitive rates to Mixer to retain its streamers on exclusivity deals. According to sources who accurately predicted the contracts ahead of time, each signed a contract in the "millions of dollars per year" range. An exact measure wasn't given, as these will not likely be disclosed at any point soon, but the need to remain competitive suggests that it has to be somewhat similar to what Ninja and Shroud were paid to leave.

Understandably, it could be a little less, as Twitch still boasts a much more impressive number of improvements and viewers as incentive, but it isn't likely to be as different as night and day. After all, there is a clear draw for many to move to Mixer, as quite a few streamers like KingGothalion have followed Ninja and Shroud to the streaming service.

It'll be interesting to see where everything goes from here or if anyone's exact contracts are ever revealed. The latter doesn't seem likely to happen, but as the competition between Twitch and Mixer heats up, it seems likely to be beneficial for all streamers involved.
