UPDATE: Twitch has unbanned xQc. Original story follows.

This comes as no surprise to those that follow his career, but Twitch has banned xQc again. Counting this most recent one, the controversial streamer has now been banned a total of five times, leading some to believe that the next offense might be a permaban. Not much is known about the ban at the time of writing, but more information will probably come to light soon. xQc is never shy about sharing the details of his bans, so he might make an announcement about it in the near future.

Getting banned on Twitch five times is actually fairly hard to do, as most streamer would likely receive a permaban after the third or fourth offense. That said, many of xQc's bans are for smaller issues, and the streamer's high profile certainly plays a role in protecting him from this fate to a degree. Ultimately, this ban seems like it was short and rather inconsequential, as it only lasted a total of four hours.

Looking at xQc's ban history is like taking a ride on a rollercoaster. The streamer was first banned on February 29th, 2020 for the standard three days. He managed to avoid the ban hammer for a few months before it struck again on June 12th, this time only being banned for one day. xQc's most serious ban to date happened on November 18th when he was banned from the platform for a full week. After this, his two most recent bans were in close succession and for very short periods of time. On July 28th, xQc was banned for five hours, and now on August 14th, he was banned for four hours.

Regarding the reason for this ban, it seems as though fans are still unsure. The ban at the end of July was caused by xQc streaming clips from the Tokyo Olympics, but no such mistake was made this time. Some running theories point towards a clip of him eating a popsicle in the shower, but fans argue that this wouldn't have breached the Twitch ToS since it only showed him from the shoulders up. Others believe it's because he streamed a Donda event, but there's nothing concrete to back this claim up.

Whatever the reason, xQc is back at it already, and already did his first stream after the short ban. It doesn't seem as though this will hold him back much, so fans of the streamer can rest easy.
