Sometimes, internet personalities can become synonymous with the games they play. That's the case for Ninja with Fortnite, as well as Asmongold with World of Warcraft. Recently, Asmongold commented on the Sanctum of Domination raid cinematic which upset many players. Many are unhappy because they are ready for antagonist Sylvanas Windrunner's story to end, yet Asmongold thinks the cinematic was as good as it could be.

The reason being that the Jailer killing Sylvanas would have been predictable, with Asmongold going on to say that the best ending for Sylvanas has her become the Lich King. Either way, Asmongold shared this information on Twitter and then went live on Twitch to discuss it further. There, he described the current World of Warcraft storyline as something like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, though he also notes how the Jailer pales in comparison to Thanos.

In short, he thinks the story is being parsed out like the aforementioned movies. This cinematic, in Asmongold's thoughts, was basically Infinity War. The net patch, whenever that is, would follow-up in a manner like Endgame. Right now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still reeling from the effects of Thanos' snap, with each movie and Disney+ TV Show, particularly Falcon and The Winter Soldier, having to work on what comes after. Asmongold's comparison goes this far, saying that the next half of the story post-Endgame would come at the end of the current World of Warcraft storyline.

The big problem therein, though, is that Asmongold thinks The Jailer lacks substance in comparison to Thanos. The Titan has clear goals and a plan, that being to snap half of the universe's existing population out of existence. There are those who poke hole in the plan from a logistical standpoint, but Thanos is cool, menacing, and calculated. Asmongold doesn't like that the Jailer lacks much of this: “The Jailer isn’t as cool as Thanos… I don’t like the fact that you don’t know why The Jailer is doing anything. Like, nobody has any idea. Why is The Jailer doing any of this? What’s the point of it?”

Asmongold thinks the lack of clear motivations and a concise plan makes The Jailer's otherwise awesome appearance a bit lackluster. It stands to reason players will learn more about The Jailer in the coming weeks and months, but until then, it seems fans are left in the dark. Overall, this comparison may leave many wondering if The Jailer will be the Thanos of the WoW world or if he'll always pale in comparison.

World of Warcraft is available on PC.
