Hot tub and yoga Twitch streamer Amouranth recently pointed out the now ex-gambling streamer xQc's hypocrisy after he criticized her controversial streams on the Amazon-owned website.

Amouranth and xQc are two of Twitch's most popular, successful streamers, but they're also a couple of the most controversial. Amouranth's been in the news throughout 2021 for her former hot tub streams and the bans she endured because of them. Now, Amouranth's getting heat for kickstarting the ear-licking streams that have taken over the ASMR category on Twitch, leading to yet another ban on her part. Similarly, xQc has been in the eye of criticism for a multitude of reasons, such as his reputation on the NoPixel GTA roleplay server. More recently, he's been criticized for his gambling streams not just by the general public, but his fans as well.

Much like most big Twitch streamers, xQc does general reactions on his channel or comments on whatever current controversy is happening. He's made comments about Amouranth's hot tub streams in the past, calling them "pathetic," and following her most recent ban, xQc said she "deserved" to be banned permanently. But Amouranth clapped back at him in a tweet on her personal account, saying he only does it to take the heat off of his own gambling controversy. She also referred to the "glass houses" idiom, essentially calling xQc a hypocrite.

The Canadian streamer has received heavy backlash from viewers and Twitch creators for the way he handled gambling live. He initially started gambling streams because he thought it was "good content," he explained live, and also because he wanted to do it. However, gambling can be quite dangerous and addictive, and xQc was not only gambling away many earnings offline as well but was advertising it to his viewers. Despite any heat he's received, xQc has never been banned on Twitch for gambling streams the way Amouranth has been banned for sexually explicit content.

After recruiting nearly 2,000 others with a referral link to join the gambling site, xQc admitted that he should have taken more steps to warn others about the possible harms of gambling and quit altogether, he announced. Still, gambling is big on Twitch, providing the same entertainment that many viewers found watching Genshin Impact streamers pull from the gacha over and over again.

Some commenters point out that both types of content should be marked as "Mature" or "18+" on Twitch, with neither being appropriate for the younger audiences that make up a large portion of its viewership.
