Twitch streamer Alinity has long been one of the streaming platform's most controversial, and popular, figures. Now Alinity has announced that she is taking a break from Twitch streaming as well as social media in general. Alinity stopped short of revealing exactly when she would be returning to Twitch streaming, signing off on Twitter with a Christmas Eve message that ended simply with, "I will see you all when I get back."

Alinity didn't provide much context about why she is taking this particular Twitch streaming break. However, four days earlier, on December 20, she sent out a tweet explaining to her followers that she is "pretty sick." Alinity warned her followers then her streams would be "short and sporadic" so she could look after her health. It's possible that whatever illness Alinity is dealing with has figured into her decision to take a break from streaming, but she has not offered clarification on the matter.

Alinity is a controversial figure on Twitch, as some have accused the platform of showing favoritism to her, allowing her and other big streamers to get by with things that would have severe consequences for smaller content creators. This included an incident where Alinity threw her cat behind her head in a livestream, which drummed up some significant outrage directed at the streamer. However, Alinity has denied the rumors that Twitch is lenient with her, calling the accusations "ridiculous."

While Alinity has caused controversy from her own actions, she has other times been targeted for situations that she had nothing to do with. For example, Alinity was harassed by people after Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch, as some of his fans accused her of causing the ban, with no evidence to back up the claim. In fact, Alinity says she has never even met Dr Disrespect, let alone caused Twitch to ban the streamer.

In another instance, 100 Thieves Mob members Froste and JhbTeam reportedly made negative tweets about Alinity, which in turn saw their fans target the streamer. To their credit, The Mob members deleted their negative tweets about the streamer and publicly apologized to her. Alinity accepted their apology with a tweet that said, "Thank you, let's make the internet a safer place for everyone."

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see if Alinity finds herself in any other controversial situations or if her channel is able to remain free of drama whenever she does come back. And while some may think a break will cause a Twitch streamer to lose viewers, historically some time away actually seems to give the streamers a big boost in viewership when they return. Alinity fans will have to wait and see what happens.
