A Twitch streamer learned the hard way why streamers shouldn't go AFK in the middle of a stream when his mom shares wholesome childhood details in a broadcast. While there are plenty of controversial Twitch streamer moments, this popular Twitch clip is more likely to put smiles on faces.

While streaming Halo 3 on Twitch earlier today, streamer SDSocrates had to step away from the keyboard. Not wanting his viewers to be bored for a single second, the streamer's mom, Kathy, took his place. In the purest clip most will watch today, Kathy thanks viewers for supporting her son and his "streaming endeavor" and says that she's "happy for him." She doesn't end things there though as she then proceeds to launch into SDSocrates' favorite childhood lullaby, You Are My Sunshine, revealing that she "used to sing it to him all the time when he was a kid."

The heartwarming moment seems to have really touched Twitch users, who have watched the clip of Kathy's takeover more than 51,000 times. This is huge as SDSocrates has a small community, but the clip has just reached and entertained a huge number of people. Its popularity is likely because it was posted on r/LivestreamFail, the Reddit community known for helping smaller streamers blow up and causing the downfall of Twitch Partners and Affiliates.

Since the Twitch clip hit r/LivestreamFail, SDSocrates' popularity has skyrocketed. The streamer, who plays games like Halo 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and tabletop board games, had been getting an average of just five viewers in the last week. At the time of writing, there are now more than 153 people watching the stream. SDSocrates followers have also jumped with more than 260 people following the stream today, confirms SullyGnome data. This won't make him one of Twitch's most popular streamers, but it's great growth that will surely make Kathy proud.

Every week it seems that there is some sort of controversy with Twitch. Some of them also feature people's parents like a minor who gave away nearly $20,000 of his parent's money to Twitch streamers.

Others, like the allegations that Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban being because of criminal activity, are far more serious. However, Kathy and SDSocrates show that Twitch can offer users plenty of wonderful moments too, sometimes when the streamer is AFK.
