As if it needed to be said, Turok was one of the most highly coveted titles when it launched back in 1997 for Nintendo 64 and PC, with plenty of gamers taking on the role of the titular hero to hunt and fight dinosaurs. Now, following the remastered version's release on PC in 2015, Night Dive Studios' updated take on the shooter looks to be coming to Xbox One soon, for it has now officially received a PEGI rating.

As seen in the tweet below from the Twitter user known as Wario64, Night Dive Studios' Turok remaster has been given a PEGI 16 rating, meaning that the ratings board has deemed the title to be suitable for persons aged 16 years and over only. More importantly, though, it lists that the system on which the game can be played is none other than Microsoft's Xbox One console.

Turok's impending arrival on Microsoft's current generation console may not come as much of a shock to many fans of the first-person shooter, as Night Dive Studios revealed roughly two years ago that it had intentions of bringing the remaster to the Xbox. However, there's still no concrete evidence as to when the updated title will drop for the console, but it's definitely odd to see an incorrect release date PEGI's listing since it's already a day after January 2, 2018 and it's still not on the system.

Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see if Night Dive Studios' Turok remaster makes a splash on the Xbox One upon its launch–whenever that may be–but newcomers unfamiliar with the franchise might not be all that interested, especially if the quality of the title's visuals don't exceed those on the PC iteration. In our review of the PC remaster, we pointed out that the game feels a tad antiquated by today’s standards, and it seems unlikely that particular issue will be addressed with the Xbox port.

Night Dive Studios' Turok remaster is available now on PC, and will launch for Xbox One on a currently unspecified date.
