PlayStation’s recent State of Play featured several exciting announcements. The show opened with a trailer of the highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake, and fans also got a glimpse at some PS VR2 titles, including Horizon Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village.

Other noteworthy reveals included new gameplay trailers for Final Fantasy 16 and Street Fighter 6. Both games are scheduled to launch in 2023, with Final Fantasy 16 aiming for a summer release. Additionally, the show confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered would come to PC on August 12, with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales launching on PC in Fall 2022. Sony acquired Nixxes Software in July last year and confirmed its involvement with these ports in the new trailer. The State of Play event also included a surprise announcement of an Xbox console exclusive coming to PlayStation.

Publisher Finji confirms that Tunic will launch on PS5 and PS4 on September 27, 2022. This announcement comes alongside a new gameplay trailer debuted at the State of Play showcase. Tunic is made by Andrew Shouldice and a team of developers that helped create other popular indie games like Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Cuphead, Celeste, Night in the Woods, and Dustforce.

Tunic received rave reviews upon its release in March, with praise given for its art style and the sense of exploration. Many players also made comparisons to The Legend of Zelda series. It launched as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title for both console and PC and was heavily featured at various Microsoft events.

Tunic now comes out on PlayStation consoles a bit over six months after its initial release. Although, unlike its release on Xbox Game Pass, it doesn’t seem like Sony will add Tunic to the catalog of games offered under PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. It costs $29.99 on other platforms, so PlayStation customers will probably pay a similar price to purchase the game.

The recent State of Play was more eventful and noteworthy than previous events. It included many exciting AAA and indie announcements, in addition to a look at some PS VR2 titles. Sony clarified that first-party games will not be a part of this showcase beforehand, and they are anyway reserved for another event known as PlayStation Showcase, which generally takes place in September. So, fans will likely have to wait till September 2022 to see new footage from upcoming Sony first-party games such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the multiplayer title set in The Last of Us universe.

Tunic is available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S and is set to release for PS4 and PS5 on September 27.
