Simmers all across the globe unite, for the much awaited The Sims 4 Discover University expansion pack was finally revealed, and not a moment too late. If you're having a bit of choice anxiety we totally understand, because both schools look absolutely gorgeous and amazing, and no matter where you go your Sim will have a blast on campus. However, if you need a bit of help with choosing we're here to share a few details about both schools and how your choice might affect you.

10 Distinguished Degrees

When your Sim applies to university they might get accepted into a distinguished degree, which is only accessible for those with high enough skills in certain categories. Once you make your application and get the results, each school will tell you which programs you're eligible for.

If you were accepted into distinguished degrees in one of the two universities, we really recommend going for that one, since these degrees will give you better boosts and bonuses later on as you enter your career life after graduating. So, always go for the best you can get!

9 Skills

The skills that your Sim already has will obviously have a massive impact on which school you should go for. Let's say your Sim is passionate about art and painting. In that case, those skills will best serve them over at the University of Britechester. However, if your Sim is a future scientific genius and wants to build a robot, Foxbury Institute might be the best way to go about it.

It's always important to consider what your Sim can already do, since those skills will help him along his academic path. There are even special scholarships available for just about each skill your Sim has past a certain level.

8 Career Experience

The main goal of university is to have fun, right? But at the end of the day your Sims are there to study so they can do better in their career later on in life. If your young adult or teen already has a bit of work experience from a part time job or even a full time job, they'll have a certain skill set can match either of the two universities, be it Foxbury or Britechester.

Having some career experience can also get you a work-related scholarship. When choosing a degree, try to pick the ones that will further enhance your career performance for when you actually graduate. And remember, always go for distinguished degrees if you can get one!

7 Interests

As a last resort for your Sim, their choice might just purely depend on what their personal interests or life aspirations are. While these won't make the application process any easier, you can get into any of the non-distinguished programs in either university without having any base knowledge.

You won't enjoy the same career bonuses later down the line, but at least your Sim will still get to pursue something they're truly passionate about. Even sports and video game lovers can get scholarships in either school in esports or athletics, so there's plenty to choose from.

6 Historical Vs Modern

If degrees, skills and interests aren't a difficult consideration for you, you should look at the general atmosphere of both schools and their respective campuses. Britechester is definitely older and more European style, with ancient buildings and beautiful classic gardens for you to hang out in.

Foxbury, on the other hand, is a brand new university. The campus has a clean, very modern architecture that might be more pleasing for those who love a minimalistic look. Go with your heart, or wherever you imagine your Sim would look best.

5 Dragon Vs Lobster

Another key choice to make is choosing between the two school colors and mascots. Britechester's mascot is a horned dragon, with green and yellow details. Most of the clothes will feature these same colors, with black or green backgrounds.

Alternatively, you have Foxbury with its Lobster mascot. The colors vary from red to white and small hints of yellow here and there. If you like showing off your school pride, pick the mascot and the colors that appeal to you the most and put your Sim in respective sweatpants and a T-shirt.

4 Classic Vs Modern Dorms

Just as the two schools are different on the outside, there are also some differences on the inside. No university experience is truly complete without living in a dorm or in campus housing. In Britechester, the two dorms available will have more of a traditional and faded style, with old furniture that isn't exactly from this century.

However, at Foxbury, the dorms are incredibly modern and clean, with a fresh new look that in our opinion seems much more expensive. Which one does your Sim prefer? The choice is yours.

3 Debate Guild & Art Society

If you join Britechester, there are a few special organizations you can join as a student. Maybe your Sim is a future master painter and wants to join the Art Society? Alternatively, maybe they have tons of ideas they'd like to share with the world and are eager to get their debate on with the Debate Guild?

If neither of these interests you, Britechester also has its very own Spirit Corps that ensures the hype for the schools' colors and its dragon mascot is always there and being represented.

2 Bot Savants & Brainiacs

Over at Foxbury Institute, you also have two unique organizations that might tickle your Sim's fancy. The Bot Savants are a group of students who are incredibly passionate about robotics, so if your dream is to have your very own Servo, this is the crowd for you.

You also have the Brainiacs who spend every living and breathing hour of their time with their noses buried deep in books. If your Sim is also a passionate student and a nerd looking for fellow nerds, Brainiacs are definitely for you.

1 Common Area

The final consideration to take into account is what the common areas look like for both schools. Since you'll only have instant meals available at your dorm and you need to get to a cafeteria for a hot meal, common areas will become an important place for your Sim to hang out in.

Not to mention, you can develop your skills, do research, study and meet other students here. In Foxbury, the commons area provides computers and robotics tables, while in Britechester you have research machines and debate podiums for any debate practice you might need.
