Of all the games showcased at Sony's E3 press conference this year, Trover Saves the Universe is probably the most peculiar one. Developed by Squanch Games, which was founded in 2016 by Justin Roiland, the game is supported by both PS4 and PSVR.

The short trailer released at E3 2018 shows what looks like a third-person platform mixed with the customary Rick and Morty-like humor Squanch established in its VR debut, Dr. Splorchy Presents: Space Heroes. Check out the debut trailer below.

It's not clear what exactly Trover Saves the Universe is, but it's safe to guess that it won't really matter for fans of Rick and Morty. One thing is for certain though, and that is that the game is going to feature rude humor and weird-looking aliens. It also doesn't seem like Roiland is masking his Morty voice in the trailer, so fans of the show could probably get by thinking that is game is just another episode of interdimensional cable.

No release date was announced, though since it was showcased exclusively at Sony's conference, it sounds like a potential PS4 exclusive.
