Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a fighting game themed around the popular Persona series (specifically the game Persona 4) and was created by Atlus and Arc System Works. Many players have flocked towards the game in droves, for its unique play style, game mechanics, and the fact that people can now play as their favorite Persona 4 characters.
Of course, like almost every other fighting game in the marker, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is easy to pick up but difficult to master. As such, there are people who are going to get lost within game play, without a few tips.
7 Don't Practice Every Character
It may sound counter-productive at first, but many players of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax have figured out that a player shouldn't go too in depth in practicing on every character. This is because each character is wildly different from one another in terms of play style.
A player should play around a bit and then find one character to stick to for the rest of the game. They will want to get to know this character in and out; all the little quirks and specialties of that character, which does not carry over to any other character.
6 Try Out Challenge Mode
Challenge Mode is essentially the tutorial of the game. It'll walk a player through the basic controls of the game, how to attack, block, and so on and so forth. It is much easier to play through the game after going through the Challenge Mode.
Most players slip up in that they instantly jump into a character and struggle to get a feel of the controls or basic actions (such as summoning their Persona). Luckily, Challenge Mode will help to ease a player into game play and get acquainted with the game's controls.
5 Learn How To Block
Learning how to block the enemy's attacks is perhaps one of the most important things to learn in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. It does not matter if a player can land a powerful combo that instantly destroys the enemy; if they don't know how to block attacks, all it takes is one combo to completely take them out.
Learning to block attacks will take some time and skill (along with good timing), but it is worth it in the end. Any player who wants to get good at Persona 4 Ultimax needs to learn blocking.
4 Learn Basic Offense Moves
It may sound obvious at first, but most players don't know basic offense moves, such as simple combos or longer chains. This can get in the way of getting better at the game, as there are many unique mechanics a player has to get used to.
It is best to get to know the feel of the controls while playing Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, along with at least learning basic offense moves. Quickly tapping a specific button, for example, will let a player do Auto Combos, which can be great to soften up the opponent.
3 Remember To Use The Persona
The Persona is going to be one of the greatest weapons that a player has in their arsenal. It's activated after using C and D inputs, though summoning Personas will take up some of the player's Persona Gage (which replenishes over time.)
Usually, Persona attacks are long-range and used to finish off the opponent. It's good to save these attacks until the opponent is at low health, and then give them an onslaught of Persona attacks to kill them off and win the match. Or, they can be used to keep the enemy at a distance.
2 Don't Use A D-Pad
It is obvious that a player will want to play with a controller in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. For most players, using a controller feels better and is considered by many to be better for fighting games.
However, a player must also remember not to use the D-Pad while they are playing. The analog stick is considered to be smoother for movement, and feels more responsive when it comes to running or getting out of the way of an opponent's attacks. Of course, though, a player can have a personal preference to using the D-Pad.
1 Remember Each Character Plays Different
It is possible for a player to want to branch out to another character or two, apart from the main one that they were sticking to. It's not unusual for someone to have a "main" fighter and a few more that they don't play as often.
As such, it's worth nothing that each character plays differently; it will take some time to get used to the new character, if a player's been using their main one for a while. Maybe one character runs a little faster, or their jabs hit a bit harder, and so on.
