The final boss fight of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands against the Dragon Lord can easily be one of the most impressive spectacles within the game for many players. However, some fans have had difficulty when trying to fight through the phases of the final encounter with Dragon Lord in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, especially when trying to use one of the game's many melee-based builds that put aside guns to punch, smash, and slash enemies.

In the case of the Dragon Lord specifically, one phase of the fight in which the final boss summons Bernadette the Dracolich can cause major problems for players that prefer to get up close and personal in combat. Well, one Tiny Tina's Wonderlands player has found an interesting trick in order to make sure that their melee damage can reach the flying Bernadette, thanks to a combination of legendary spells and weapons.

Posting their success to Wonderlands' subreddit, user iamthelaird shows off a strategy using both the Marshmallow legendary spell and the Live Wire legendary SMG. The result is that the ability of the Live Wire causes a synergy with the object thrown out when casting the Marshmallow spell, which causes a lightning arc to connect the two together. This means that the two abilities of some of TIny Tina's Wonderlands' best legendary items create a synergy where melee attacking the Marshmallow object will cause it to send a lightning melee attack to Bernadette as long as the player is close enough.

Pulling off the full build does require players to establish quite an arsenal of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' legendaries, although the results certainly speak for themselves. With this melee build, the player is not only able to drain the Dragon Lord's shield in seconds, but Bernadette is also taken down in less than a minute, without having to fire a single shot into the boss. Being able to strike out at long-range while still using a melee build is great news for making any play style viable, either just for fun or for the sake of certain challenge runs.

This specific feat of taking on a flying dragon with only melee damage goes to show both the creativity of players and the versatility of games like Tiny Tina's Wonderlands with so much build variety. Making so many builds workable, including melee-focused ones, is part of what causes players to stick around for another Tiny Tina's Wonderlands season pass or major update. While it's true that this was only achieved by mixing and matching two seemingly unrelated items, the ability to find these synergies is as worth exploring as any game map.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
