Before players can take on this deadly foe, they will have to complete plenty of tasks, collect many items, and prepare their character for an epic fight. It all starts when the players spawn into Midgard. Work quickly, and don't get sidetracked. After all, there isn't much time to spare.

Start collecting

Getting to Fenrir is no easy task. Players will need to cross deadly lands and traverse dark caverns all in the name of defeating the boss. The first step to any Fenrir kill is to collect the required materials. These materials are known as fragments and there are four different types that will be needed to enter Fenrir's lair. Players will need:

  • 25 Quest Fragments
  • 5 Hideout Fragments
  • 50 Event Fragments
  • 15 Jotunn Fragments

Quest Fragments can easily be retrieved by completing as many quests as possible during the run. These quests can be started from the quest board in the village and range in difficulty from easy to hard. Hideout Fragments are retrieved by locating hideouts and clearing them out. Once the hideout is completely cleared, players will gain the fragments. Event Fragments come from the different events that appear around the map. These events include finding the stag that descends from the world tree and freeing prisoners. Players can also deal with the crows of Ragnarok. Jotunn Fragments come from defeating the Jotunns whenever they spawn in Midgard.

Defeat A Jotunn

The first task that players will be given when they enter Saga mode is to defeat a Jotunn. Of course, this won't happen until day three. So players should use their free time to gather as many fragments as possible until the Jotunn appears.

If players have trouble taking on a Jotunn, they can check out some tips to make things a little easier. The main thing they need to worry about is dodging a few attacks and making sure they have a weapon that can easily chip away the Jotunn's health.

Gather Materials

Players will need to make sure they gather materials every chance they get. Specifically, players will want to collect Cut Stone, Wrought Iron, and Wooden Planks. This will be used to repair the quarry and lumbermill. Upgrading these will allow players to get more materials to use later on. Of course, players can always opt-out of rebuilding these and instead collect materials by destroying premade enemy structures.

Build The Bridge

After players defeat their first Jotunn, they will get tasked with rebuilding the ice bridge that will lead them to Fenrir's lair. This task is pretty easy to handle and shouldn't take players extremely long to complete. Gathering as many materials as possible will help make things easier when the time comes. To build this bridge, players will need the following materials.

  • 50 Cut Stone
  • 30 Wrought Iron
  • 10 Ancient Cores
  • 2,500 Souls

Ancient Cores are one of the materials players might have trouble obtaining. They are found by defeating high-level mobs like Witches, Trolls, and Warchiefs. These mobs can easily be found in camps and around the Smokey Highlands.

Armor (And Weapon) Up

Now that the bridge has been built and players have the required materials to enter the fearsome Fenrir's lair, they are going to need some armor and weapons for the fight. Make sure to hit up the local blacksmith to get better weapons. There is no specific weapon type that is best to use against Fenrir, so it is important to just grab a powerful weapon.

If players have access to legendary tier weapons, grab some of them. Always grab more than two weapons because Fenrir has a whopping 180,000 health to chip away. Fenrir can also hit pretty hard, so players should make sure they have good armor to handle the attacks. This armor should also have a good defense against the cold since Fenrir resides in the Glacier Peaks. Also, gather plenty of health potions in case.

Fight Fenrir And Win

Fenrir sounds like a terrible boss to go up against. Fenrir is a challenge but she is not impossible to overcome. Most of Fenrir's attacks are telegraphed well and easy to see coming. Make sure not to get caught in any of them since they can deal some pretty heavy damage. Watch out for the falling boulders as well. Players might die in their first fight against Fenrir, but once they know what to look out for, they will easily kill Fenrir.
