In Tribes of Midgard, the threat of losing progress is always present, as players will get set back quite a bit if they let their village get destroyed. Unfortunately, it can be extremely difficult to stop this from happening, especially as players get further along in days. Since players aren't expected to beat the game in one sitting, they are going to need an exit strategy, and that is where the Bifrost comes in. This magical portal allows the player to exit the game early without beating it or dying, with the added bonus that they get to keep all the rewards they've earned.

Tribes of Midgard is something like a rogeulite game in this aspect, as players will continue to get stronger each time they make a new attempt. Understanding and using these roguelite mechanics is vital to the player's success, so it's important to know when and how to use the Bifrost. Unfortunately, the Bifrost can't be used immediately, so players will have to unlock it first.

The Bifrost in Tribes of Midgard is unlocked after players defeat the Giant boss on Day 3. This means that players will need to survive through these first three days as normal, and only after the boss of the third day is defeated will the Bifrost appear on the world map. To find it, look on the map for a crown-like icon, as this indicates the Bifrost's location. It will spawn in a different place every time, but it is usually fairly close to the player's village. It will be much easier to defeat this boss when playing Tribes of Midgard with friends.

How to use and find bifrost tribes of midgard

After unlocking the Bifrost and locating it, players will need to know when the best time to use it is. As previously mentioned, using the Bifrost will end a game early, allowing the player to take any Golden Horns they've earned along the way back with them. This is a much better option than losing these Golden Horns because the player's village was destroyed. It basically comes down to keeping an eye on how difficult it is to protect the village. If the player thinks they might not be able to make it through another siege, then it's time to use the Bifrost and come back next time with new items and upgrades. This is especially true when playing Tribes of Midgard solo.

That's all there is to it, really. There's no golden rule of what day players should use the Bifrost, just keep it in mind as the attacks on the player's village get tougher and tougher. It's always better to end the game early with the Bifrost than to let the village get destroyed, so as long as players prioritize that above all else, they should be fine. Always focus on getting permanent items like Golden Horns or unlocking new classes in Tribes of Midgard.

Tribes of Midgard is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
