While Very Easy is listed as being for beginners to tactics games, the battles in this mode can still be challenging for those new to tactics games. Players will still have to use Triangle Strategy's encampment to level up in mock battles to ensure they are the proper level for each battle. It is much more story-focused, but players won't be able to tear through battles without considering unit placement, Quietus, and positioning.

Next is Easy. Easy is closer to Normal for most games; players will need to level their armies, upgrade Triangle Strategy's units with Medals of Bravery and Valor, and worry about learning tactics like positioning. Players will want to make sure that all of their used units are also above or at the recommended level for each fight.

Normal can be a real challenge in Triangle Strategy. While it is fairly balanced, players will still want to ensure that they are well versed in every aspect of combat. Things like Quietus, unit upgrades, and position will be absolutely paramount for winning battles. Players will need to keep healers on their list of units in every party, and they will need to put loads of coins into potions for healing and getting rid of status effects.

Those players willing to try Hard mode will not be disappointed in its difficulty. This mode is massively difficult, and single positioning mistakes can lead to even the best Triangle Strategy units dying with single hits. Preventing enemies from gaining bonus damage through height advantage, placing units on either side of the player's units, and similar things can devastate a party in a single turn. Utilizing good Quietus, potions, and positioning is the only way to get through this difficulty. Players will also need to have their units over-leveled with possible.
