Some new information about Transformers: Reactivate has been leaked, revealing previously unknown details about playable characters. The leaks come in the form of screenshots from an early build of Transformers: Reactivate.Transformers: Reactivate is a new Transformers game coming from developer Splash Damage. It was initially revealed with a trailer at The Game Awards 2022 and is an online co-op action game for up to four players. Players will apparently be fighting against an alien occupation of Earth and attempting to liberate the planet. It was also announced that the Autobots and Decepticons would be banding together to defeat this alien threat, which is a significant change from previous games in the franchise, where the two factions were constantly fighting against each other.RELATED: Splash Damage Acquires Battalion 1944 Dev for Transformers ReactivateThese new leaks are the latest information about Transformers: Reactivate, and they showcase some of the playable characters that could be available in the game. The leaked screenshots are from an early build of Transformers: Reactivate, dating back to 2018. The first screenshot shows a gallery lineup of different characters from both the Autobots and Decepticons, including famous characters like Starscream, Ironhide, Soundwave, and Hot Rod. The three other screenshots are blurry gameplay footage showing various Transformers in-game or their icons on the screen. Based on all of these screenshots, it seems that playable characters could include Bumblebee, Hot Rod, Ironhide, Windblade, Sunstreaker, Ratchet, Shockwave, Starscream, Soundwave, and Slipstream. So far the cast seems to be stacked in favor of Transformers' Autobots, but there's a good chance that more Decepticons just weren't leaked.

These leaked screenshots provide some pretty significant information about the upcoming Transformers game. However, it's important to keep in mind that these screenshots are from a 2018 build, so the game has more likely than not undergone a significant amount of changes since then. That doesn't mean, of course, that these characters aren't still in the game, but some of them could be added as DLC later, or potentially have been changed in one way or another from the forms shown in these screenshots. With the reveal at The Game Awards 2022, though, these leaks are already more solid and reliable than similar leaks about a Transformers MMO.

Regardless of which Autobots or Decepticons are featured in Transformers: Reactivate, fans have hope that Splash Damage will do the Transformers franchise justice. With work on games like Gears Tactics, Gears 5, and Batman: Arkham Origins on its resume, the studio has some good credentials. And fans could potentially see that for themselves with a 2023 beta test. Overall, next year is looking to be a good year for Transformers fans, especially since Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was announced for a theatrical release in June 2023.

Transformers: Reactivate is currently in development for PC and consoles.
