The Game Awards took place on December 8, and fans were given a first look at the brand-new game Transformers: Reactivate. The trailer offered a glimpse of the high-octane action they can expect from the upcoming Transformers game, and it looks like it's going to be an adrenaline-pumping thrill ride.

The Transformers games are typically action-adventure titles, with players taking control of the Autobots or Decepticons in their fight against each other. In addition to the single-player campaign mode, many of the games also feature multiplayer modes, allowing players to battle it out against each other as their favorite Transformers characters. However, from the information revealed during The Game Awards, it appears that Transformers: Reactivate will be different from its predecessors in many ways.

Transformers: Reactivate is a 1-4 player online action game and is being developed and published by Splash Damage, which is known for its expertise in developing the multiplayer modes of popular games, including Gears 5 and Batman: Arkham Origins. The trailer opens with a group of resistance members trying to reactivate a Transformer, but that imagery is alternated with horrific footage of aliens invading the Earth. Panicked people trying to fight these unknown creatures, and the planet seems on the verge of destruction and in complete control of the invading creatures.

The trailer then shows an intense battle scene between Autobots and invaders. It appears that Ironhide and Ratchet are the two Autobots fighting, while the third is difficult to identify. It has also been announced that in Transformers: Reactivate, Autobots and Decepticons will band together to fight against this massive alien invasion of Earth. This invasion is said to be led by a powerful new enemy, and the Autobots and Decepticons will have to put aside their differences if they want to stand a chance against this new threat. This is a huge change from the previous games, where the two groups were always at war with each other.

Transformers: Reactivate is being created in collaboration with Hasbro and is expected to enter its first beta test sometime in 2023, perhaps to coincide with the launch of the action film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, though that exact date hasn't yet been announced. The trailer is really well-made and may have surprised many fans because of the level of detail it carried. The graphics in the trailer were top-notch, and the gameplay looked exciting. Hopefully, Transformers: Reactivate will be hugely popular with the Transformers community.

Transformers: Reactivate is currently in development for PC and consoles.
