High Moon Studios has today confirmed that the iconic voices of Peter Cullen and Gregg Berger will be lending their talents to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. As expected Cullen will be reprising his role as Optimus Prime, and Berger will be assuming the role of Grimlock, one of the Dinobots featured prominently in the marketing for this game.

Cullen is no stranger to High Moon's new Transformers franchise — you can hear him talk about Optimus' role in the game above — but this will be the first time that Berger assumes the role of Grimlock for a video game. Any old school Transformers fan will recognize that Berger also provided the voice of Grimlock for the animated TV series back in the '80s.

Joining Cullen and Berger are some of today's choice voice acting talent, including Nolan North, Troy Baker, Steve Blum, and Fred Tatasciore, who will be reprising his role as Megatron from the past two High Moon Transformers games. Obviously Tatasciore's reputation as the voice of Megatron isn't nearly as prolific as that of Frank Welker, but any fan of High Moon's take on Hasbro's franchise should feel right at home with Tatasciore as Megatron's voice.

Though Baker and North have already provided their voices to previous Transformers games, Fall of Cybertron marks the first time the two have teamed up for their own mission. As the voice of Cliffjumper and Jazz, North and Baker will be taking on almost a buddy cop role — something that they've been destined to do for quite some time now.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron Voice Talent

Though getting the designs of each Transformer — both Autobot and Decepticon — is integral to creating an authentic experience, equally as important is casting the right voice talent. By once again securing Cullen, and also adding Berger to the cast, the developer has proven their dedication to this property, and provided a little more incentive for fans to check this game out.

Are you excited to hear that Peter Cullen will once again be reprising his role as Optimus Prime? Which of the other casting announcements has you itching to play Fall of Cybertron?

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases August 28, 2012 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
