Though Transformers: Fall of Cybertron doesn't release until Tuesday of next week, developer High Moon Studios thought it more important to release launch trailers for the game while most eyes are trained on the video game world. As the highly anticipated follow-up to War for Cybertron, Fall promises to be a return to form, washing away the flawed movie tie-in that was Dark of the Moon.

In addition to building on War for Cybertron's eclectic and compelling base, Fall of Cybertron pushes the Transformer count to its limits, featuring the likes of Grimlock and Metroplex (a gigantic, city-sized Transformer) in the same game. The first trailer for the game (featured above) teases those two Autobots in some stunning CG, and accompanied by an atmospheric score.

Unfortunately the trailer is comprised mostly of post-E3 praise — the same type of praise we shared for the project — and scenes that have already been featured in trailers, most especially the Spike VGAs reveal. Obviously the game itself doesn't look this good, but the scenes of a war torn Cybertron are captured with stunning effect in the main game.

The second launch trailer, while much longer than the 30-second spot, is equally comprised of pre-rendered footage that has been featured in previously released trailers. It puts together all of the climactic scenes that gamers have been treated to before — Optimus at the brink, Bumblebee in dire straits, and Metroplex holding a tiny Megatron like the Indian in the Cupboard — but is unfortunately light on intriguing new footage.

Still, there's plenty more reasons to get excited about the release of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron — from the diverse single player campaign to the highly customizable multiplayer. These may be the launch trailers for the game, but we imagine that if High Moon has their way with it, there will be plenty more Transformers content to sink your teeth into in the coming days.
