With the arrival of Pokemon Home version 3.0, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can now take some more Pokemon from past games on their adventures through the Paldea region. While the list itself may be limited, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players will see some new and old favorites on the list of eligible Pokemon that can be transferred.Earlier this week, Pokemon Home's long-awaited version 3.0 update brought Pokemon Scarlet and Violet compatibility into the software. However, the wait for the update had a few hiccups along the way. After a miscommunication concerning Pokemon Home version 3.0 took place on social media, The Pokemon Company had to clarify that the update would be released shortly after. Now that the update has been released following a six-hour maintenance period, Pokemon trainers now have new team compositions to consider in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.After connecting Pokemon Home with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers can now transfer over 100 more Pokemon that were previously not obtainable in the ninth generation, outside of Tera raid battles and giveaways. On Twitter, a user named AdeptCharon put together a useful infographic for Pokemon players to reference. According to the post, all the Starter Pokemon from Kalos and Galar can now make the trip to Paldea, and some Pokemon such as Typhlosion and Arcanine that have regional variants from previous games will be eligible for transfer. This list also includes regional evolutions such as Kleavor and Sneasler from Pokemon Legends: Arceus. In addition, some legendary Pokemon such as Mewtwo and Giratina are now transferrable.

Sadly, some fan-favorite Pokemon such as Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Chimchar are not eligible to come to the Paldea region at the time of writing. While the transfer list is limited to the aforementioned Pokemon in Pokemon Home version 3.0, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC will add more Pokemon from previous generations to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for trainers to catch in the wild upon release. Whether this means the list of transferrable Pokemon from Pokemon Home will change in response or not remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, Pokemon trainers will need to wait until later this year to find out which additional Pokemon will be transferrable, starting with The Teal Mask episode this fall. While Pokemon Home version 3.0 is a long overdue update, the fact remains that it is a step in the right direction for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet going forward.
