Last year, Toys R Us, the once-powerful retail giant that specialized in both toys and video games, declared bankruptcy and shut down its operations. Since Toys R Us's demise, its former mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe has become somewhat of an Internet sensation, perhaps most famously featured in a photo of Geoffrey standing in an empty store, his luggage packed as he waves goodbye. Geoffrey's newfound fame has made it easy for him to find work elsewhere though, recently appearing in the FSCW Royal Rumble match at Supercon in Florida.

In a video captured by someone in attendance at FSCW, Geoffrey the Giraffe makes his entrance to a loud pop from the crowd, and then proceeds to lay out an opponent in the ring with a chokeslam. Geoffrey was only able to last in the ring for about two minutes, but he still put up a valiant effort.

Check out Geoffrey's FSCW in-ring debut, and the heartbreaking/hilarious way he was eliminated from the match right here:

For those who don't want to watch the video, the way Geoffrey is eliminated from the match is a direct reference to one of the reasons why Toys R Us went out of business. At the end of Geoffrey's time in the match, "Amazon" delivers a package to former WWE wrestler Gangrel, who then hits Geoffrey in the head with it, sending the tragic mascot flying over the top rope and effectively eliminating him from the contest.

Geoffrey the Giraffe's appearance at the FSCW Royal Rumble is just the latest example of how Toys R Us has become a meme in the wake of its downfall. This interest in the company has seen some efforts to revive it in some capacity, though it remains to be seen if any attempts to do so will be successful or not.

In the meantime, Toys R Us will remain in the public spotlight as long as stunts like this and stories of employees finding hidden treasures under shelves continue to pop up.
