Toys for Bob has recently gone through a major transition. In 2020, the game developer's co-founders Paul Reich III and Fred Ford left the studio to found a new team. Under new leadership, it was also announced that Toys for Bob would become a support studio for Call of Duty: Warzone. The Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and Spyro Reignited Trilogy developer may not be done working on its own projects, too, however. A Twitter post from Toys for Bob hints at some upcoming product announcements.

A recent tweet from the official Toys for Bob Twitter account shared a photo of the company's "Wall of Games." The wall features 17 picture frames, each holding a game box cover and disc. The games go all the way back to Toys for Bob's original games, Star Control and its sequel Star Control 2. There's also an eighteenth frame on the wall, with "???" labeled inside of it to denote that a surprise could be in store for Toys for Bob fans.

The message attached to the photo also hints at an upcoming surprise. "It's pretty convenient we have more wall space to cover..." reads the associated message, with a winking emoji. The implication being that Toys for Bob has a new project in development. That could mean that an announcement is forthcoming, though it could just be Toys for Bob wanting to share the news that something is in the works even if it can't talk about it for some time, too.

As for what the new project could be, there's no obvious answer. Toys for Bob working on Call of Duty: Warzone is a new direction for the studio, which could lead to a new direction for the studio's projects. Perhaps the Call of Duty: Warzone experience is intended to help the team shift toward FPS development, where it could work on remasters or remakes or past Activision hits in the genre.

Fans of Toys for Bob will know that the studio's modern wheelhouse remains platforming games. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was a striking success, as were the Spyro Reignited Trilogy remasters. Toys for Bob could easily be working on a new Crash Bandicoot or Spyro game. Fans would certainly want to see that happen.

Needless to say, all eyes will be watching for a new Toys for Bob announcement to be shared at various upcoming gaming events. Perhaps it's a coincidence, but next week is Gamescom Opening Night Live, which will certainly have some big game reveals. There's no certainty a reveal will be coming soon from Toys for Bob, but just the confirmation that a new game is in the works should be enough to hold fans over for the foreseeable future.
