Ubukata's Bye, Bye Earth was created in two parts which were published on Christmas Day, 2000 by Kadokawa Shoten, with art by Yoshitaka Amano. The title was then revivified in 2007 in a Kadokawa Bunko version, with a new four-volume release of the title which ran on until 2008, with the art this time done by Hyung Tae Kim.

The title was also adapted into a manga, with art by Ryū Asahi; announced in December 2019 and published in January 2020, running until July 2022 in Asahi's Young King Ours magazine. The complete manga ran for four volumes, with Shonengahosha publishing the third volume in September 2021.

The story of Bye Bye, Earth is set on an Earth where people take on the form of animals, except for a young girl named Bell, who is the only girl in the world who lacks animalistic characteristics. Armed with her sword, Bell sets out to find other people like her.
