What Does the Fierce Deity Armor Do?

Each piece of armor in the Fierce Deity Set will increase Link's attack power. Wearing all the armor together gives an even greater boost to the player's attacks, and combined with the strength of the Fierce Deity Sword, Link becomes a powerful force to be reckoned with.

How to Start Misko's Treasure: The Fierce Deity

As players progress through the game, they will occasionally overhear characters discussing the legend of Misko and his treasure. While the thief has several outfits he has hidden away across Hyrule, players can begin the quest to find the Fierce Deity set by traveling to Cephla Lake Cave located just west of its namesake Cephla Lake. Players will know they are in the correct location when they see the fire from a small campsite.

The fastest way to reach the entrance to the cave is by fast traveling to the nearby Kisinona Shrine and heading north. At the mouth of the cave, players can overhear two brothers, Prissen and Dak, discussing the daunting task of finding the Misko's Treasure. By speaking to the brothers, players will learn that the legendary thief has hidden some treasure within the cave. Upon entering the cave, however, the brothers' issue becomes apparent.

The cave is littered with chests, mostly containing a single green rupee. If players feed and befriend the dog outside at the camp, it can sniff around and help them locate the chest with the armor. Alternatively, players may use the image above to pick the correct chest, as it does not change location. Using the flower in the far back of the cave as a reference, players can use Ultrahand to pull the correct chest out of the ground.

Opening the chest will grant Link the Ember Trousers, just one of Misko's many treasures. Seeing this, the brothers approach and begrudgingly congratulate Link on his success. One of the brothers looks deeper into the chest and finds a message in a bottle that will kick off the quest for the Fierce Deity armor set. The note from Misko vaguely describes the locations of three powerful pieces of armor that players can seek out in Tears of the Kingdom. It also adds that players should return to this same cave once the set has been completed.

How to Find the Fierce Deity Mask

The first piece of armor in the set, the Fierce Deity Mask, can be found in Skull Lake Cave, found in the far north area of Akkala in the appropriately named Skull Lake. While fast traveling to Kamatukis Shrine will get players the closest to the cave, the entrance is high atop a stone pillar protruding from the skull-shaped lake's left eye. Unless players are able to build a machine that can lift them high into the air, it's recommended that players start from Kimayat Shrine near Gut Check Rock and glide over to the pillar. Players should jump down into the hole at the top of the pillar, where a small pool of water waits to break their fall at the bottom.

Players should progress through the cave to a rock wall that can be broken with hammers or any kind of explosive. On the other side, Link will face a handful of skeletal enemies, including an enormous Stalnox boss. Sitting atop a large platform in the middle of the cavern is a small, decorated shrine with a chest inside.

Players have the option to avoid the fight with the Stalnox completely and climb up to the shrine to obtain the Fierce Deity Mask for themselves.

The next piece of Fierce Deity armor can be found in the southern part of the Akkala Highlands in the Akkala Citadel Ruins. Players that have activated the Domizuin Shrine can speed up their journey by quickly fast traveling next to the ruins.

The entrance to the chamber with the chest can be found in the southwestern corner of the main building of the ruins. Players can use the above image and coordinates to help locate the hole in the wall they need to find, as the crawlspace is sometimes hard to see during night or rain.

After crawling through the opening, players will find a hole in the room's floor. They can drop into the hole to find another shrine with a chest containing the Fierce Deity Armor.

How to Find the Fierce Deity Boots

The final piece of armor in the Fierce Deity set can be found to the southwest of Lookout Landing in Hyrule Field. Players should travel to the nearby Susuyai Shrine and climb up the hill to the west. In a scene reminiscent of a classic Zelda dungeon, players will find a large tree stump in the middle of a pond connected to the hill by a long wooden bridge. Players should jump into the hole at the top of the stump and glide down into the Ancient Tree Stump Cave.

A few monsters, such as Keese and a Like Like, greet Link as he makes his way to the bottom. There is also a Bubbelfrog hiding on the roof of the cavern that players may want to kill while they are there.

Players should keep an eye out for an opening in the wall covered by vines. Using any sort of fire or one of Link's swords, players can remove the vegetation and reach the chest shrine with the Fierce Deity Boots hiding behind it.

How to Find the Fierce Deity Sword

After obtaining all three pieces of the Fierce Deity armor set, players should return to the Cephla Lake Cave, where they began the side quest.

Upon entering the cave with all three pieces equipped, a hidden passage will open up for the player revealing a final chest shrine. It should be noted that this door can open with Fierce Deity armor pieces gained through amiibo. The specific in-game chests containing the Fierce Deity armor pieces do not necessarily need to have been opened in order to receive the sword so long as the player is wearing a full set.

A note in a bottle sits next to the shrine containing a note from Misko congratulating Link and stating that he has earned the Fierce Deity Sword contained in the chest.

How to Get Fierce Deity Set with amiibo

Like many of the other armor sets based on past games, the Fierce Deity Set can be obtained through the amiibo ability. By scanning the Majora's Mask Link amiibo, players will receive a handful of various mushrooms and a chest that has a chance of holding an item from the Fierce Deity Set, including the sword. By using this amiibo, players also have the possibility of getting the Majora's Mask Fabric for their paraglider.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
