The Total War series has been around for a long time. Starting with Shogun: Total War in 2000, the games span multiple decades. Over that time, the series has managed to gain an impressive following, selling over 36 million copies. Recently, new info was revealed about the next installment in the franchise, Total War: Warhammer 3.
Total War: Warhammer 3 is the next game part of the Total War series. The game features intense turn-based strategy battles in which players command armies, attempting to take down demons and monsters from the Chaos Realms. This installment in the series promises to be the biggest to date, as it includes 6 factions, 9 legendary lords, and more replayability. Furthermore, this game developed by Creative Assembly functions as the ending of a story 5 years in the making.
Recently, it was revealed that the game would be making its way to Xbox Game Pass. According to an announcement from Xbox, Total War: Warhammer 3 will launch as a day one title for Game Pass on PC. Furthermore, the company also revealed that the release date for the game is February 17, 2022.
This news regarding a release date is no doubt exciting for fans. Back in September, the developer announced that Total War: Warhammer 3 had been delayed until 2022, making players question when the game would actually come out. At least gamers now have a definite release date for the title. Additionally, fans only have a few more months to wait, as the game launches at the beginning of next year.
Besides announcing that Total War: Warhammer 3 is coming day one to Game Pass, the developer revealed that more content is coming after release. While the specifics of the upcoming content were withheld by the developer, it noted that the game would include more add-ons and free updates. According to the developer, more info about post-launch plans is expected to be detailed as the game nears its February release date.
An early adopter pack was revealed for the game as well. Those that purchase the game before launch or within one week of release receive additional rewards. Unfortunately, this extra content isn't included automatically for those playing on Game Pass. Those that wish to obtain this extra content while playing the game on the service must purchase the early adopter pack separately from the Microsoft Store.
This isn’t the only game announced to be coming to Game Pass on PC day one. Beyond Total War: Warhammer 3, the highly-anticipated Halo Infinite is coming to Game Pass as a day one release. Releasing on December 8, this game marks the first mainline Halo installment to arrive on PC at launch.
