The wood elves of Total War: Warhammer 2 will be the first faction to receive a two-for-one Legendary Lord Combo in the game’s upcoming Twisted & The Twilight DLC. This legendary duo, known as The Sisters of Twilight, will bring powerful new units into battle, including a giant forest dragon as a mount.

The wood elves recently received a massive reworking in the latest Warhammer 2 update. The faction was one of the earliest races to be included in the first Warhammer’s DLC content, making them one of the most sensible factions to receive an update. While their units remain the same, the overhaul changes several of the wood elves’ campaign mechanics.

Most notable is the role of amber, which was once needed for nearly all of the faction’s upgrades, but is now only necessary for research projects. The update also added more magical forests and introduced the deep root travel system that can be used to rapidly teleport armies to different magical forests around the world map.

Those magical forests and the deep root travel system will play an important role in the upcoming DLC. The expansion sees players take control of The Twilight Sisters, who are tasked with stopping the corruption that has begun to rot the branches of the deep root system. This means that the campaign will send players around the world map to restore magical forests and protect their glades by allying with or conquering nearby factions.

The campaign begins in Witchwood, where players will have to decide how handle the nearby dark elf and green skin factions. After that, they can use the deep root system to quickly travel large distances around the world map.

If the campaign sounds daunting, it’s a good thing that The Twilight Sisters will have the help of a giant forest Dragon, which will be used as a mount to rain down terror on rival armies. Dragon are one of the most powerful mounts in the Warhammer universe. However, players do not start the campaign with the dragon and will have to discover for themselves how to tame it.

The dragon is not the only powerful new unit that the Sisters have on their side. To aid them in their early campaign, the Sisters start off with a unit of Great Stag Knights, one of the DLC’s new units. The Stag Knights excel at breaking down heavy infantry and their speed makes them a versatile unit that can quickly travel to wherever they are needed on the battlefield.

It looks like the Twisted & The Twilight has the potential to make the wood elves one of the most interesting factions in Warhammer 2. The Twisted & The Twilight DLC drops on December 3.
