When in comes to strategy games, Total War: Warhammer 2 is certainly one of the most-watched upcoming titles. The follow-up to the critically-acclaimed and hugely popular original Total War: Warhammer, Total War: Warhammer 2 is aiming to build further on the success of the first game, and now gamers can get a more detailed look at what's in store courtesy of a new gameplay video from developer Creative Assembly.

The gameplay video in question has a large focus on the High Elves, as they gear up to head into battle against the Lizardmen. Focusing on a battle between Lord Tyrion's Elf army and the Lizardmen Horde or Lord Mazdamundi in the Mosquito Swamps, this Total War: Warhammer 2 video showcases the rosters of both sides, detailing how both races function in the title.

It certainly seems as though the High Elves will have some standout units, such as the Frostbite Phoenix, skilled infantry units such as the Swordmasters of Hoeth, and the Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower, the sole artillery unit available to the High Elves that makes up for that limitation through its versatility. Indeed, there's certainly a greater focus here than that shown by the inaugural Total War: Warhammer 2 gameplay trailer. Those interested in seeing more from the title can do so by checking out the gameplay video below.

The video in question proves to be particularly useful for those aiming to focus on playing as the High Elves when Total War: Warhammer 2 launches in September. Indeed, it's great to see how the high-skilled units of the Elves can function in battle, such as the extremely powerful Dragon Prince cavalry units, although perfect planning is still required in such tactical battles.

When Total War: Warhammer 2 was initially revealed, it certainly caused a fair amount of excitement. The game also seems to be shaping up well so far, with the early development build of the title looking the part. Of course, some of the most enticing aspects of the game, such as its potential mega campaign between Total War: Warhammer 1 and 2, will be trump cards when the game releases.

The original game proved itself to be an instant classic, as shown by our Total War: Warhammer review, with the title earning a spot among the best games that Creative Assembly has developed. Should the sequel reach its potential, then the studio could be on to another winner.

Total War: Warhammer 2 will be released on September 28, 2017.
