Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds was announced about two weeks ago and anticipation for this title is at a fever pitch. Outside of the six playable characters that were announced in the official trailer, we were left with a sense of wanting more. So, the crew at Game Rant discussed a few characters that we would like to see show up and kick-ass in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and after possibility after possibility we rounded it down to our top 5.The top 5 is a list of characters that have yet to make an appearance in the games, and can join Chris Redfield as bad-ass newcomers to the series.
Controversial? Yeah probably, but Monster Hunter needs a representative. Monster Hunter is a huge franchise for Capcom and excluding the franchise from the upcoming fray just doesn’t make much sense. Since there are very few recurring characters in the Monster Hunter franchise, it makes sense to go with what you know. The felynes are allies in the game that help you take down monsters by throwing bombs or attacking them with weapons. Sure, they aren’t the biggest characters in the game, but that certainly didn’t stop Servbot from making an appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
4. Viewtiful Joe
What kind of party would it be without Viewtiful Joe? Not a very good one. Viewtiful Joe is a bad-ass with a happy-go-lucky attitude. His ability to rewind, freeze, and fast forward time could all add to his unique move set, not to mention that he wears a pretty wicked suit. Viewtiful Joe recently made an appearance in Tatasunoko vs. Capcom, which is proof that this character isn’t dead quite yet. Henshin A Go-Go Baby!
The Norse God of thunder with his trusty hammer Mjolnir is one of Marvel’s biggest heroes, and his absence in the Marvel vs. Capcom series thus far is baffling to say the least. Thor is a part of the Avengers, along with Capt. America, Iron Man, and The Hulk. Iron Man and Hulk have been confirmed, and Capt. America is a given, so Thor would make a nice addition to the crew. With a Thor movie set to release around the same time that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is scheduled to hit store shelves, it makes pretty good business sense to have this hero make an appearance — nothing wrong with additional advertising.
2. Frank West
The main protagonist of Dead Rising has certainly become a fan favorite as of late. Sure, he’s not the go-to guy in Dead Rising 2 but he is still a bad-ass. Frank West has taken on hordes of the undead, while turning anything he could get his hands on into a weapon, which certainly makes for an interesting move set. Game Rant has no doubt that Frank West can hold his own in a fight with Iron Man because we have seen him go toe-to-toe with some pretty tough characters in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. Well, that and the fact that he’s covered wars you know.
Honestly, who else could it have been. The merc with a mouth is by far one of the most entertaining characters in Marvel history. His cocky and comical personality only add to the fact that he is armed from head to toe with all kinds of weapons making him one dangerous psychotic. Deadpool is almost a lock to show up in MvC3. This is evident by the easily identifiable silhouette that stands behind the Marvel logo in the official trailer. Deadpool is constantly breaking the fourth wall anywhere he shows up, so this would make his appearance quite an enjoyable one.
There you have it ladies and gentlemen: Game Rant’s Top 5 characters that we hope appear in Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds. Sure, you won’t agree with all of them, so leave us your top 5 in the comments below.
