Spider-Man: No Way Home appears to be setting up many future films with Tom Holland as the web-slinger, but according to the star himself, he is still unsure what his future playing the iconic hero will look like.

Holland made his exciting debut as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, where the actor was praised for his youthful portrayal of the famous web-slinger. This came right after Disney's Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures made a deal to collaborate on future Spider-Man films and integrate the character into both respective universes. He would then go on to star in three solo films with 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming, 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, and now No Way Home, while also appearing in the two crossover films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

For the first time sitting down with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of the character, all three Spider-Men shared their experiences working on Marvel Studios' Spider-Man: No Way Home with Deadline, adding that director Jon Watts' intentions felt pure, as they all strived to deliver a unique experience for the fans. When Holland was asked about his future playing Spider-Man, the actor shared what his mindset moving forward looks like. "The truthful answer — and I've done a whole press tour where all I do is lie — the truth is, and you're not going to like the truth, I don't know the answer to that question," Holland said. "This film for me was as special as an experience could ever be."

"I know I love this character, and I know that I am not ready to say goodbye," Holland continued. "But if it's time for me to say goodbye, then I will do so proudly, knowing that I've achieved everything I wanted to with this character, and sharing it with these boys will be forever one of the most special experiences of my career. So, if it's time, it's time. If it's not, it's not. But at the moment, I don't know." While he may be unsure of what his future holds as Spidey, it's clear that Sony producer Amy Pascal has plenty of ideas brewing as to where to take Spider-Man next, as she confirmed that at least three more Spider-Man films are in the works with Holland set to reprise his role.

Fans also begin petitioning for Garfield to return for another solo Spidey project with The Amazing Spider-Man 3, but until all of those projects are confirmed and underway in development, fans will have to just experience No Way Home again on the big screen in the meantime. The multiversal project has become one of the biggest films in recent years, as it has already made its way into the top 10 of highest-grossing films of all time.

Spider-Man: No Way Home also stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Zendaya as MJ, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, and Jacob Batalon as Ned.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters.
