Tom Hanks fans were horrified last month to learn that the famous actor and his wife, Rita Wilson, had both contracted the coronavirus. While the two have thankfully pulled through and recovered from the dangerous illness, it wasn't an easy time.

Tom Hanks recently noted in an interview that he didn't have a good time of it, with body aches and extreme physical exhaustion that kept him from completing even simple stretches. However, his wife had it considerably worse.

Both Hanks and his wife have since returned from Australia, where he was to begin filming a movie about Elvis, to the U.S., where Hanks recently hosted SNL from home. He and his wife have since taken steps to help others, as well. Doctors and scientists are currently researching whether antibodies found in the blood of those who have had coronavirus and recovered from it can be used to help develop a vaccine, and both Hanks and Wilson have donated blood as a result.
