Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise was spotted in Cambridge hanging off of a vintage plane. Because Mission: Impossible 7 has already wrapped filming and is scheduled for a 2022 release, fans are speculating that this stunt is for the further away Mission: Impossible 8.

Many people are familiar with Tom Cruise doing intense stunts. The Mission: Impossible movies are known for having big action set pieces and nice fight scenes in order to set themselves as the definitive spy movie franchise. With that being said, Cruise is heavily involved in the development of the scenes and has been doing many of his own stunts for the movies.

Cruise set the bar high by hanging from an acutal plane that was taking off of the ground in 2015's Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, which was an incredible stunt on its own. It looks like that alone couldn't satisfy the star, as onlookers have spotted the actor hanging from a real life vintage plane. He was supposedly harnessed in for obvious safety precautions, but he can be seen from the ground hanging around the wings of the plane and moving out of the cockpit.

It's unclear as to what these stunts are for. Many are assuming that it's for a future Mission: Impossible film because there was a plane following close behind it with a camera. Many think this was test footage for a future Mission: Impossible film since Mission Impossible 7 has already wrapped production. There's also the chance that this is a just a fun day out for the star and he's doing this as an adrenaline rush. Some people do rollercoasters, but maybe for Cruise this is what it takes to get that itch. Many people on Twitter photographed the star doing this insane stunt, so if this is for a future movie, it's definitely doing great on the promotional side of things.

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled for next year and if fans get the chance to watch it, make sure to look out for any stunts that are even a little bit close to what the actor is doing here in these photos. Many talent rely on using CGI to create a dangerous scene, so it's admirable that Cruise takes risks like this in order to get the most authentic shot for the film.

However, at the same time, it's very risky. Hopefully the actor and all the people involved stays safe moving forward in whatever stunt he decides to do next.

Mission: Impossible 7 is scheduled for September 30, 2022, theatrical release
