On March 17th, "Operation Void Edge" will be available for all Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege players worldwide, but season pass players already have access to the two new operators offered in the expansion. These operators are Saif Al Hadid, codenamed Oryx, as the new Defending Operator and Nienke "Iana" Meijer as the new Attacking Operator. Until the 17th, many players without the season pass will be playing against these operators without the means of trying them themselves.

Oryx's abilities are simple to understand, but can still prove to be deadly in the right hands. His main unique ability is the Remah Dash, which allows Oryx to quickly dash and break any soft walls or barricades in his way, as well as knock down any Attacking Operators in his path. This ability holds up to three charges and recharges over time, but smashing through a wall with this ability will deal 10 points of damage to the operator. Oryx can additionally climb up open hatches, adding a reason for defenders to leave hatches open in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

While Oryx's ability may not seem like much at first, it is very capable of opening up new pathways for others on the Defending side, as well as knocking down Attacking Operators with shields, such as Fuze and Montagne. However, using his ability to breach puts Oryx at risk, as the ability can cause Oryx to kill himself if he is at low enough health. To counter being knocked down by the Remah Dash, it's important to grab operators that can help track locations and can set up traps are recommended.

Nomad

Nomad's proximity-triggered Airjabs can take out Oryx if he uses his Remah Dash to run into their area of effect. Placing these in high traffic areas while capturing the objective can keep Oryx at bay.

Gridlock

Gridlock's Trax Stingers won't be destroyed if the Remah Dash is used over them and will damage Defenders, such as Oryx, normally. These can be used to cut Oryx off from specific paths, even with the ability to breach through soft walls.

Lion

Lion's EE-ONE-D can track all moving Defenders within a short period of time, so if Oryx is using his Remah Dash at the time, he can be tracked.

Dokkaebi

Dokkaebi's Logic Bomb can be used to determine the direction Oryx is using his Remah Dash in if he is quickly moving past or toward. This can prove useful to not be quickly taken by surprise if the vibration of Oryx's phone is quickly getting louder.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege continues to truck on with an upcoming cross-generation multiplayer support for when the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are released, meaning that even more operators and players will be soon joining the game. Staying open with strategies and call outs to teams can lead players of all different experience levels to success, even with the endless stream of new faces inside the game along those playing it.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.
