Ubisoft announces new mobile game Tom Clancy's Elite Squad at E3 2019. Elite Squad was just one of the many Tom Clancy game announcements that Ubisoft made in its press conference, as the company also showed off a new trailer for Ghost Recon Breakpoint and revealed new content for The Division 2.

Tom Clancy's Elite Squad is described as a military RPG that will star heroes and villains from several Tom Clancy game series. The trailer shown at E3 2019 didn't offer a long look at the game but Ubisoft has confirmed that the mobile game will offer 5v5 battles as part of the story campaign or in the player versus player or guild versus guild game modes. Screenshots on the game's official website suggest that characters will have abilities and gear slots and they can also be trained to beef up their stats.

The screenshots also show that characters will have star ratings, ranging from one star to five stars and players can "find" pieces to get the character to the next star level. When this gameplay is seen in other mobile games, players typically have to grind to find those character pieces or purchase them in card packs. Ubisoft makes more money from microtransactions than digital game sales and random card packs, so if Tom Clancy's Elite Squad offers that, will only add to those earnings.

Ubisoft has said that characters from games like The Division, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and Splinter Cell will all make an appearance in Tom Clancy's Elite Squad. Fans will be able to play as Cole D. Walker, the villain played by Jon Bernthal in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. To get him, fans have to pre-register for the game, which can be done on the official Elite Squad site.

Tom Clancy's Elite Squad will also star Splinter Cell protagonist Sam Fisher. In screenshots, Fisher is shown to be a four star character with a skill rating of more than 8,000 which suggests that he will be pretty powerful when upgraded. It's not the Splinter Cell game that many fans hoped that Ubisoft would announce at E3 2019, but some will just be happy to see that Ubisoft hasn't forgotten about the night vision wearing agent.

Ubisoft hasn't announced the Tom Clancy's Elite Squad release date. However, the company does confirm that there will be beta tests for the game's worldwide release on Android and iOS devices.
