Now that the second Tokyo Revengers live-action film has finally been announced, fans are already looking forward to racing to the nearest movie theater the moment it releases to be reunited with the talented cast once again. While the first film was action-packed and fairly true to the anime series, there were a few things the studio decided to tweak and certain characters that were nowhere to be seen.

While Takemichi and his main crew got to star in the first film, there were a few fans that were kept on the edge of their seat, waiting for their favorite characters to show up, just for their debut to be kept for the second film. Here are some of the key Tokyo Revengers that fans are hoping to finally see in the upcoming 2023 live-action film.

Season one spoilers ahead!

6 Baji Keisuke

Tokyo Revengers Keisuke Baji

Baji is one of the most prominent members of the Tokyo Manji Gang and was nowhere to be seen during the entire first film. Although Baji doesn't really have a large role early on in Takemichi's journey to the past, fans still expected to see a small glimpse of Baji; even as a bit of foreshadowing.

It's very possible this was a conscious decision, allowing fans to (rightfully) speculate together that a sequel was in store for the future. Baji plays far too important of a role in the series to leave out completely, so leaving Baji's big debut for the second live-action film will surely get fans even more hyped for the first trailer where Baji finally makes his appearance!

5 Chifuyu Matsuno

Tokyo Revengers Chifuyu Matsuno

Chifuyu is Baji's best friend and also plays the role of the first division's vice-captain, next to Baji in the Toman ranks. While Chifuyu doesn't get a ton of time in the spotlight for the first few episodes of season one, it's clear that he becomes an essential part of Takemichi's quest to save Hinata later down the line.

Chifuyu finally gets to introduce himself much later in the season which is likely why he was left out of the first live-action film. Fans will go crazy once the studio finally debuts Takemichi's trusty partner; just to wince at the thought of having his poor face bashed in for the greater good courtesy of Baji!

4 Kazutora Hanemiya

Tokyo Revengers Kazutora Hanemiya

Kazutora plays a massive part in the later half of the first season and is the main catalyst of Baji's untimely downfall. Kazutora was one of the founding members of Toman that eventually defected and joined the rival gang, Valhalla, and thus beginning the first arc.

Finding the right person to cast for Kazutora is a difficult task considering how distinct his signature look is. The studio has taken some liberties with characters' hair colors in the first film, so it is very possible that Kazutora may be missing some of the blonde "banana" streaks in his hair as he appears in the anime.

3 Peh-Yan (Ryohei Hayashi)

Tokyo Revengers Ryohei Hayashi (Peyan)

Pah-chin was able to make his debut in the first film but his best bud, Peh-yan, didn't get his chance to make even a brief appearance. Every big plot point that was driven by Peh-yan's character in the anime series was primarily taken care of by Pah-chin.

Unfortunately, it is possible that Pah-chin's role has been cut from the live-action film series completely and that he still won't make an appearance in the next film. However, there is still the chance that Pey-yan may make his debut during the big Toman versus Valhalla fight that may be featured in the next film!

2 Mucho (Yasuhiro Muto)

Tokyo Revengers Yasuhiro Muto (Mucho)

Fifth division Tokyo Manji Gang captain, Mucho, was yet another missing face from the first live-action film. Mucho doesn't really speak much or have a large role as far as the first Tokyo Revengers season, but he still appears in both the big Toman versus Valhalla fight as well as the big time skip near the end.

Mucho may not be a man of many words, but fans still would love to see the strong and silent captain make a small cameo at the very least for the upcoming film.

1 Smiley (Nahoya Kawata)

Tokyo Revengers Nahoya Kawata (Smiley)

Nahoya usually goes by the nickname Smiley and is the fearless captain of Tokyo Manji's fourth division. Smiley is known for his bright and sunny demeanor (hence his name) and his shaggy coral hair. Smiley is constantly seen grinning no matter what the situation, which makes him difficult to read in a fight.

Smiley is one of the more minor members of Tokyo Manji (so far) but was still present during the big fight against Valhalla. Hopefully, fans will get a glimpse of Smiley for the upcoming film, even for a split second and a quick smile!

Bonus: (More) Shuji Hanma

Tokyo Revengers Shuji Hanma Timeskip Comparison

It's true that Hanma did get the opportunity to make his big debut in the first live-action film, but he didn't really get his time to shine. Hanma, played by Hiroya Shimizu, not only gets to show off his past character design but also his dapper time skip one as well. However, Shimizu didn't get a whole ton of screen time or speaking lines.

Hanma plays a much bigger part in the later half of the series, so here's to hoping Shimizu will be able to continue his spot-on portrayal of the evil beanpole himself.
