Respawn Entertainment is already hard at work making Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Although the developer has yet to release much information about the game, leaks about the project suggest that it will be an ambitious title with lots of fan-favorite characters. However, that's not all the studio may be working on, as there are suggestions that Titanfall 3 is in development as well.

New job listings indicate that Respawn is currently staffing up for development on Titanfall 3. As of writing, there are all sorts of positions listed for the Titanfall franchise, including senior technical animator, build and release manager, senior network engineer, VFX artists, and environment artists, too. This would indicate that Respawn isn't just thinking about making Titanfall 3, but it is actively looking to jump into production.

Some may be surprised by this information given that Titanfall 2 suffered from disappointing sales. For those unaware, the game's launch was sandwiched between the release of Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which heavily hampered its financial performance. Although EA reaffirmed its commitment to both Respawn and the Titanfall franchise, some were convinced that the franchise would be put on ice for some time.

Just two months ago, rumors began to circulate that Titanfall 3 is scheduled for a release date in 2019. As it so happens, EA revealed that Respawn has multiple games in the pipeline, and that these will release by holiday 2019, with many having guessed that Titanfall 3 was among them.

However, looking at the positions Respawn is hiring for, it seems that Titanfall 3 could still be a long way off from release. Unless the game is launching in an unfinished state - or if the positions Respawn is hiring for refer to Titanfall 3 DLC rather than the game itself - this could make a holiday 2019 release date for the game highly unlikely.

All things considered, those who saw EA's aforementioned comments about committing to the shooter franchise and who had concerns that the sales of a Titanfall game may once again be dampened due to a crowded holiday release schedule may not need to be so worried. Hopefully, though, whenever Titanfall 3 is released, the Respawn Entertainment project will have all of the room that it needs to be a big success.
