Fans of Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series have been hungry for a new game for a very long time now. Although 2016's Titanfall 2 didn't sell as well as EA had hoped, the publisher's official acquisition of Respawn last year brought with it a confirmation of a third Titanfall game. Details have since been incredibly scarce, with it not even being mentioned at E3 this year but it looks like we might finally have some idea when the game will drop.

In some prepared remarks from EA, Respawn Entertainment will be releasing several new games during 2019's holiday season. While there're no concrete details or official confirmations, given what we already know about Respawn's current projects, it's a safe assumption that one of them is whatever Titanfall 3 is. The wording of the remarks suggests that at least two titles are planned for next year's holiday season so it's still entirely possible that EA could be referring to something else entirely, like an unannounced title of some kind.

The remarks do, however, match up with what we know about Respawn's other anticipated title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Announced at E3 2018, very little was revealed about the title but it was confirmed to be aiming for a holiday 2019 release. EA and Respawn still have yet to reveal any new info about the game; hopefully we can expect to see it at next year's E3 at the very least.

Some fans may find the lack of any sort of details worrying, especially considering EA's infamous reputation of buying out studios, only to then subsequently shut them down. However, despite Titanfall 2's supposedly poor sales, EA has previously stated that it will be committed to the series for "many years to come." Respawn's CEO, Vince Zampella, also tried to dissuade fears and saw EA's acquisition as a good thing.

Titanfall is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One and, unlike its predecessor, features a single-player campaign where the player teams up with a giant, sentient mech to stop an evil corporation from launching a superweapon.
