A Titanfall 2 gamer posts a video showing his impressive Gauntlet tutorial speedrun, which he clears in 20.6 seconds, a record that could stand for weeks and months to come.

There’s something compelling about completing video games quickly. In fact, there’s a whole community built around speedrunning both new and past games. Some gamers spend their lives trying to shave off a few seconds or milliseconds from their fastest time in an effort to set world records or personal bests.

So it comes as no surprise that when Titanfall 2’s Gauntlet tutorial offered players a time trial experience, gamers would take each other on for the fastest run. One gamer, who goes by Gamesager on YouTube, has posted an incredibly impressive Titanfall 2 tutorial run of 20.6 seconds. Check out the video below to see how Gamesager did it.

To put this into perspective, most gamers take well more than a minute to complete the run their first time through. From there, a handful of players have been able to get their times down to 50 or even 40 seconds. Doing the tutorial in 30 seconds makes a gamer an elite Titanfall 2 player, so whipping through the tutorial in a record 20.6 seconds is incredibly impressive.

Gamesager’s time was so impressive that Respawn Entertainment has included his ghost in the game for players to run against. That’s a high honor for someone who’s mastered the craft of wall running, jumping, and death-dealing in Titanfall 2.

In the video, Gamersager offers some pointers for how players can get their own quick time in the Titanfall 2 Gauntlet tutorial. He recommends players use the EVA Shotgun and arc grenades to quickly dispatch enemies as they roll through the Gauntlet. Following Gamersager’s recommendation has the potential to get players down to 40 or even 30 seconds per run. Naturally, it will take a decent amount of practice for players to master the run as Gamersager has, but using the recommendations he offers should offer players a boost in the right direction. If nothing else, players should be able to claim the tutorial achievements by landing among the top few spots on the AI leaderboard.

The record-setting run comes at the end of the video, where Gamersager shows his impressively quick and agile speedrun through the Gauntlet. For his 20-second run, Gamersager uses the EPG and arc grenades, and spends almost the entire time in the air or on the walls. He describes how players can get a boost by jumping off the walls as soon as they land on them, which he does constantly through his speedrun. The final speedrun is nothing less than a masterpiece in gaming. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone can beat Gamersager’s current record, or if Gamersager himself can post an even better time than 20.6 seconds.

What do you think of Gamersager’s Titanfall 2 Gauntlet speedrun? Think you can put up a better time?
