In Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, players can make use of a truly enormous array of weapons and spells, and many of these deal elemental damage. Each element has its unique properties that make it useful in certain situations, from fire and ice to dark and acid. This guide will break down the different elemental damage types and explain how to best use them to overcome foes.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a first-person looter-shooter by Gearbox and 2K, in which players take part in a Bunkers and Badasses game run by Tiny Tina, the manic explosive enthusiast first met during Borderlands 2's main story. Facing off against the big bad of her campaign, "The Dragonlord," players must battle their way across a fantasy world of Tina's own design in a quest to save the world from evil.

Fire

The fire element allows players to set enemies ablaze, dealing damage over time, while also dealing extra damage to flesh (red health bars). This makes fire the weapon of choice when dealing with goblins, bandits, and anything else with squishy flammable flesh.

AoE fire damage can be truly devastating to any fleshy foe, so keeping an eye out for spells or weapons that can deal fire damage over a wide area is always a good idea.

Of the starting classes, the Clawbringer has ready access to fire damage via its abilities and dragon companion.

Frost

Frost is the element of choice in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for keeping crowds manageable since continued frost damage over a short period can freeze foes solid. Frost also deals additional damage to bones (White Health Bars), making it the ideal choice when dealing with the Dragonlord's seemingly inexhaustible hordes of skeletons.

AoE frost magic is especially useful when dealing with large groups of foes, allowing players to stop enemies in their tracks and lockdown powerful foes. As with fire, frost will continue to inflict damage over time for a short while after the initial attack connects.

Of the starting classes, the Brr-zerker has the easiest access to frost damage via its abilities and action skills.

Lightning

Tiny Tinas Wonderlands_Lightning Element

The lightning element is the bane of all foes using magic to protect themselves since it deals extra damage to wards (blue health bars). This means that, when facing spellcasters or any other foe that uses wards to protect itself, lightning should always be the player's first choice.

Much like the other elements, lightning will keep doing damage over time for a short while after the initial attack connects, so tagging an enemy with lightning when the opportunity presents itself is always an excellent call.

Of the starting classes, the Clawbringer has the easiest access to lightning damage via its abilities and action skills.

Poison

Tiny Tinas Wonderlands_Poison Element

The poison element is the ideal option for soaking through enemy armor (yellow health bars), dealing damage over time much like the other elements.

Poison should be deployed against enemies like the badass skeletons, who wear armor providing them with a second, yellow, health bar. Armor can be a troublesome type of health to break through without access to poison, so keeping a poison weapon or spell on hand is always a good idea.

Of the starting classes, the Sporewarden is the best at inflicting poison damage with its abilities and action skills.

Dark

Tiny Tinas Wonderlands_Dark Element

The Dark element is a sinister one, and while it lacks a type of health bar that it is especially effective against, it makes up for this with a powerful lifedrain effect. This means that players dealing dark damage regain a portion of the damage they deal as health.

This makes dark damage excellent as a means of increasing the player's survivability in combat, especially when using AoE dark damage to drain health from an entire group of enemies at once.

Of the starting classes, the Graveborn is the best at inflicting dark damage with its abilities and action skills and benefits greatly from dark damage as its action skills consume health to fuel themselves.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is available now for Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
