Gearbox Software and 2K Games decided to mix things up a bit with the release of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and it seems like that gamble paid off. Release towards the end of March, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was met with praise for its own brand of the Borderlands series' irreverent humor and its clever combination of loot shooter gameplay and fantasy-themed tabletop elements. The creative combat, mixture of classes, dynamic character creator, and satisfying gameplay loops have all come together to make a really fun game and a worthy successor to Borderlands 2's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC.

Now Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has its first DLC on the way, and fans are excited to delve deeper into the whacky world of Bunkers and Badasses to see the unstable explosives expert's next creation. Considering the Dungeons and Dragons/Borderlands crossover started as DLC as well, as the franchise's reputation for great additional content, players will have high expectations for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' post-launch updates. With the first of the four DLC packs arriving on April 21, 2022, thankfully they won't have that long to wait.

Dungeons, Boss Fights, And a New Class

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have four DLC packs, with the first one titled "Part I of the Season Pass" being set to release later this month. Although players can purchase the DLC packs individually, they can also buy the Season Pass, which will give them access to all four DLCs as well as the Butt Stallion Pack, which includes Armor Presets and other cosmetics. The Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Season Pass received a trailer that showcased what players can expect in more detail, as well as showing off some new items and quests that will be available with the updates.

Each DLC pack will open up a new quest for players, accessible via Vesper the Fortune Teller and her Mirrors of Mystery in Dreamveil Overlook. Once the player enters one of the Mirrors, they will find themselves in a brand-new DLC-specific dungeon with five levels to complete. Once they've worked their way through the various levels, each dungeon will also have its own boss fight that will grant Lost Souls after they've defeated that area's main enemy. Lost Souls can be traded in to spin Vesper’s Wheel of Fate to win Legendary rewards, giving gamers the chance to obtain some rare loot.

In addition to new dungeons for players to explore, the fourth DLC pack will also include a brand-new playable class, complete with their own skill tree and unique action skills. While not much is currently known about this mysterious seventh class, it will be interesting to see how they compare to Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' other classes, how well they'll match up, and what they'll bring to the table if players choose them as a secondary class.

Keeping The Good Times Rolling

While new content is always exciting, Tina Tiny's Wonderlands has ensured that the four new packs won't just be one-hit wonders. A week after players defeat a particular dungeon, they can return to play through them again, but each time they do they'll find the enemies a little harder to defeat. After a dungeon is completed, it will also be added to the endless pool of possibilities within the Chaos Chamber – Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' satisfyingly structured endgame loop.

Increasing the difficulty of the dungeons after each run-through and adding them to the Chaos Chamber ensures Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has a good level of replayability, and the four DLCs should add some interesting new content to the already packed base game. With each separate DLC pack for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, the game gives players the chance to dive through one of the Mirrors of Mystery and emerge in a unique world, providing something a little different to the base game and giving the developer a chance to flex its creative muscles.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
