In previous Borderlands games, players were limited to only one character class at the start of their adventure. The upcoming spin-off game, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is not only replacing the space western setting with a slightly more traditional fantasy one (albeit one that’s still incredibly wacky and fitting with Borderlands’ sense of humor), but it will also allow players to mix and match their character classes, much like in Dungeons & Dragons.

Details on the classes themselves have been pretty scarce since Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was officially announced. But developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K Games have uploaded a new trailer highlighting the first two available classes in the game: the Stabbomancer and the Brr-Zerker.

As anyone can tell by the name, the Stabbomancer is a magical assassin with a heavy focus on stealth. They can summon magic whirling blades that spin across the battlefield, slicing up anyone unfortunate to be caught by it, and can deal extra damage while attacking unnoticed. To be an effective Stabbomancer, players will need to strike enemies before they even know what him them.

The Brr-Zerker is obviously Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands take on a berserker character. In the game’s lore, Brr-Zerker’s hail from the frozen mountains and have been trained to withstand and harness the power of ice and cold. Brr-Zerkers are all about getting up in the enemies’ faces and dealing as much damage as possible, with the trailer showcasing an impressive leaping ability and a spinning axe attack.

If both of these classes look too appealing to only choose one, the multi-class system means fans can mix and match both of them together. Fans can also no doubt expect further details on the remaining classes to be shared before the game releases in March next year, and they will most likely be new spins on other classic Dungeons & Dragons classes.

Gearbox also shared some details about some of the locations players will explore and the characters they’ll meet. Obviously, Tiny Tina herself is returning to serve as the game master, and many recognizable weapons manufacturers will make an appearance under new names (with the exception of Torgue).

Butt Stallion, a pony made of diamonds that originally belonged to Borderlands 2 villain Handsome Jack, is also making a return. In the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2, Butt Stallion was cast as a queen in Tina’s D&D game. She will have a very similar role in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, acting as the ruler of the Wonderlands.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands releases for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on March 25, 2022.
