The main story in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands shined for a number of reasons, ranging from its perfectly cast characters to its consistently funny dialogue. The Dragon Lord was a solid villain with a good motivation, the areas players fought through were varied and entertaining, and the spin-off had a positive tone and message that helped it stand out from the series it spawned from.

However, some Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands plotlines feel a bit unfinished. In particular, the side quest regarding the demon Zygaxis stands out as something that is begging to be continued. The Amnesiac’s marbles collectibles also tell a deep, meaningful story, but players never get real closure after finding them all. A proper expansion could expand on both stories, and it could satisfy fans that are not pleased with the current DLC approach.

A Demon-Focused Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Expansion Could Be Exciting

The one thing that the Zygaxis and Amnesiac storyline have in common is their focus on demons. As such, wrapping up both stories through one major expansion could work well. The main quest could be focused on the Amnesiac since there is plenty of lore established for the Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands character, while Zygaxis could be used as the DLC’s source of side missions.

Zygaxis provides one of the more entertaining side quests in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, as it sees players committing evil acts throughout Brighthoof to become worthy enough for the demon to possess them. After some fighting, they find a more permanent host for the red goblin, with a dangerous-looking individual teaming up with Zygaxis. Zygaxis then tells the Fatemaker that their “paths will cross again,” seemingly setting up a future conflict. With this fight never taking place, though, it would make sense for him to return in a DLC or a proper sequel.

The Amnesiac provides one of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ collectible types, with players needing to find her lost marbles to put together her backstory. Through these memories, players learn that she was a halfling corrupted by a desire demon. After falling for a wizard that used her for her power, she grew angry and burned the wizard’s town to force him to return to her. Feeling guilty at the damage he caused, the wizard kills himself, removing the memories of The Amnesiac as well as the corruption caused by her desire demon.

What is odd about the Amnesiac’s storyline is that, while it is incredibly fleshed out, players are not told why they are being given all this information about her past. After all, this is a lot of info about a random NPC in Izzy’s Fizzies who has no impact whatsoever on any side missions or the main story. While the lore is interesting, it would have made more sense if the Amnesiac appeared in a main quest or if there was a big revelation in the final Lost Marble that connected her to another character.

With so much controversy around the Coiled Captors DLC, many are hoping Gearbox will pivot to include a more traditional expansion down the road. If this happens, a demon-focused DLC makes the most sense. Not only could players get to fight the monster they created with a boss battle against Zygaxis’ new host, but the Amnesiac’s interesting story could have an actual payoff. With players unable to even have a conversation with her once they have found her Lost Marbles, it would be great to have her lore become more meaningful through post-launch content.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
